Balancing Nail or balancing Pencil Challenge

The nail balance challenge has been around for years, I remember seeing it when I was in high school, but here is a new twist to it. The challenge is a simple demonstration of balancing a dozen nails by arranging them in a sequence that holds them together and then supporting the entire group above it's center of gravity. . So here is the challenge done with a variety of nails from sizes of 5 inches down to less than an inch. As they get smaller it does become quite a bit harder. What is new is that I've tried to do a variation of the trick by reproduce the challenge with pencils. It can be done, but a slight alteration is needed to the heads of the hanging pencils.

I’ve seen this kind of thing before, but the bending the ferrel part on the pencils to Mae them work was new to me. It seems like cheating, but something a magician would do to fool people.

Old carpenter's trick. Can you bend a 16 with your hands? That would be a young carpenter's trick.

I wanna know how on earth did you find all them pencils. Brand new ones for the matter. Like if you're giving me 1 million dollars to find a pencil in less then 1 minutes, id be 1 million poorer. Yet you have over 10 amazingly perfected engineered unused pencils! That is worthy of a like, or thumbs up. What ever they call it these days, but no wait. How many pencils did you actually have? Man thats alot of pencils. Imagine a place on earth that has that many pencils pencil in the same room at the same time and all the same ! Crazy that stuff must be a 1 in decamillion or something what ever they call that big number beyond a quadrillion . But man o man, you even recorded it yourself! Truely the camera man never dies in this situation. Gaww blimey that's really made my day seeing 10 pencils all together. I didn't even know the world had that many pencils. Crikey mate. Well if you ever get the chance to send me a pencil, id truly appreciate it tenfold. Haha get it? Ten pencils ? Tenfold!

Sorry but as a teacher I had special connections to a pencil supplier, I lived in a pencil rich environment. Since I retired I've had to hoard and ration my stock out as needed, using each pencil until it is worked down to a tiny stub. Once they are all gone I'll be left drawing with sticks in the dirt.
