Balakot Strike | Modi Government Was "Ready to Escalate, Bajwa Was Sweating" | Barkha Dutt
Today, India commemorates the fifth anniversary of the Balakot airstrike, a historic military operation conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in response to the Pulwama terror attack.
Ajay Bisaria, the High Commissioner to Pakistan who was expelled in 2019 after the Modi Government abrogated Article 370 in Kashmir, writes in his book 'Anger Management' about one of the most thorny and volatile periods between India and Pakistan - from the issue of terrorism in Kashmir to the capture of Abhinandan Varthaman, the Indian Air Force Pilot deployed after the Balakot's Air Strikes to repel an attack by Pakistan's Air Force
The Book reveals how India secured the freedom of IAF Hero Abhinandan Varthaman who spent 60 hours in Pakistan captivity and how Imran Khan tried to reach PM Modi in a late-night call but was snubbed. Eventually, Pakistan was "spooked" by India's "serious threat of escalation". The Book reveals how Pakistan's Foreign Secretary told Envoys of the P-5 Nations that "9 Indians Missiles Were Pointed Towards Pakistan..."
