Awesome place chris..i grew up around there too..i havent fished a boat on there but have had many a session on the railway side..and that tackle shops name is the name of a very rare fish that resides in bala..some useless info for you there haha..next time you go home take the better scenic route threw lake vwynwy and head back towards oswestry thats where i live lovely old market town nr wrexscum ;)

We always used to miss Bala and fish Trysfynnwd, Bala was always thought to be too hard.

ScreamingDelkims I was going with a bird based up at RAF Valley and we spent a few weekends down on this place. At the time I fished it the biggest I had was 26lbs I was trolling live rainbow trout that's what seemed to work for me. But when the weather kicks off it's a grim place mate.

ScreamingDelkims wash out your mouth us RAF types have standards hahaha Yep Valley was Anglesey/Holyhead you'll have to get used to tornado & typhoon flights the Welsh valleys are excellent low level flying areas best buy camo Carl some ear plugs mate you won't need some one shitting themselves in a sleeping bag because a tornado is buzzing past at 200ft hahaha.

Try Trawsfynydd reservoir one day , a few 30 plus pike landed this month , good fishing, just up the road from bala there , all the best mate

I fished it in the 90s mate. They've put the day ticket prices up to a stupid amount to try and keep the pike anglers away now. I refuse to pay their extortionate prices 😉😉
