I mean, it would've followed standard tropes if All Might died. Besides, what's more interesting, All Might dying and providing nothing else to the story due to him being gone, or sticking around and being affected by the events of the story (watching helplessly as hero society falls to pieces, feeling powerless, and failing to help Deku during his vigilante hunt arc)

I don't get why some people are hating on Bakugo rn, I heard from some people that horikoshi (the creator of mha) has confirmed on twitter that shoto, or maybe someone else, might be able to save katsuki, I'm not too sure if this is true but I still have hope in him since mha's team has 100% confirmed that the manga got mistranslated and katsuki's heart didn't stop, but it got pierced from shigaraki's attack. I have a feeling that Eri is gonna play a big part in possibly bringing back Bakugo with her reverse quirk, because well we haven’t really seen her very much in the past few chapters and her quirk would be able to save Bakugo if he was on the verge of death. Update: Apparently the manga in English got mistranslated and bakugo’s heart didn’t stop but instead just got pierced. Also, there are rumors of horikoshi stating that a character (like eri) may be able to save bakugo. I’m just so curious to see what happens and thank you to all the supportive and helpful replies that were sent.

Seeing his heart get ruptured like that is a crazy image. It makes it seem super final. Even with Gran Torino, his injury was kind of vague, it was just "Shigaraki kind of pushing into his torso" which ended up crippling him, passing on the cape to Izuku. This honestly seems as final as Twice's death was. People couldn't believe Twice was truly gone back then, but he indeed died, so I think Bakugo has a very strong chance of passing

But man even Mui had a chance, Bakugo was just hurting inside out especially and after all the pressure, his heart bursted as a side effect. He was still able to stab Kokushibo and activate the red blade after all, so I wouldn't be surprise if he still felt pain at that point, since he's probably still alive for a few moment even after having his body bisected.

I just want to point out the poetic callback to when All Might saved Bakugou from the sludge villian with a punch so strong it changed the rain to clear weather. Now Bakugou has become strong enough to do the same, but his weather change was just the opposite. He made a clear sky turn to rain. I'm crying.

That would indeed be quite a poetic callback, but unfortunately if I remember correctly, All Might didn’t change the weather from rain to clear, it was also from clear to rain. So it’s more like Bakugou recreated a scene that was made when he was first saved from All Might.

If Deku ‘saves’ shigaraki or insist on it , I will give up on the story after this. Bakugo was never a favorite of mines, but I always acknowledged him as Deku’s rival. The man went through so much development, just to realize that he can’t ever have Deku’s potential. If he is really dead, than his death better be a catalyst for Deku’s fury.

His explosion probably caused that rain (something allmight himself did in reverse). He had dekus potential. I think this part of the story is going to acknowledge the quirk singularity theory more. The chapter spoke in third person while describing that bakugou was unaware of his quirks inability to stabilize then it leaked out to the rest of his body and he was quite literally exploding everywhere on his body. Only his arms had ever been trained and tolerant for his quirk. His body had not evolved to handle explosions like his arms could. So bakugous own quirk being too powerful is probably what killed him

I think it's going to make his decision a lot more real. Because if he chooses the justice route, literally no one will be able to blame him, but it also means he has to compromise on his ideals, thus letting the villains win philosophically. Like Dabi said, this is going to be a battlefield of ideals. Will Deku's ideals still remain standing to save anyone who needs help when he meets someone who literally just killed his childhood friend? We will see.

I don't think Bakugo died. But it's funny how Shigeraki is saying "you guys are extras! What did you expect. Only One for All can beat me". Everything Midoriya said about "this is a fight between and shigeraki and I no one else!". Was right lol

I just refuse to believe they'd kill off Bakugo, he's the most popular character in the series and a part of me has a feeling it's not the end for him just yet. He may be 'dead' but he'll come back in some way, some how. One last hurrah.

Y’all talk about how it proves that he’s had so much character development and atonement, but what did he do in the first place? He just had a shit personality and bullied the main character, he doesn’t need to die for his character arc to be finished, just think that he’s died. Also, the death was in vain, so no point story wise either. I think if the death actually is final then it’s because the author is trying to rush the end of the story (I think it’s been confirmed he’s trying to end it in a year or two), and some important character needs to die.

@@Origin820 bakugo at the start of the show would in no way do what he has done in the recent chapters. Him dying isn't necessarily what shows his development. I don't think killing him is bc the author is rushing things, characters die in anime all the time, they're literally fighting the strongest villain. Some people are bound to die, it's natural. Also eris rewind quirk was said to only work on living things, so seeing as bakugos dead it's not gonna work on him.

@@Origin820 he did have a shit personality at first, he was egotistical and full of himself. I mean everyone did practically beat off his ego growing up. But you can't tell me he hasn't developed a ton since the beginning. There's no fucking way early series bakugo would act or do what he's done in the latter half of the series. His death wouldn't even bother people as much if he hadn't become a better person notably through the show. And his death is kinda like krillins death against Frieza. It will actually affect the main character in a way that might push him forward. Until now he's never lost anyone actually close to him. So it might actually have a similar effect on him to when Goku saw krillin die. Can't just say there's no point story wise when you haven't even seen where the stories going lmao. We've seen bakugo go from thinking everyone around him was worthless fodder, and not wanting to hear shit from anyone, to actually listening to others on advice like when he had endeavor teaching him, he started working together with others like during the class A vs B unlike when he was mostly using his partners in the sports festival. He even went with the class to get Midoriya and apologized to him, during the first fight with shigaraki he saved Midoriya by pushing him out of the way and getting stabbed for it, you can't say he hasn't changed as a character. He even told that child that acted like he used to not to act as conceited as he was or he wouldn't see his own weaknesses. The fact that bakugo in his last moments told them to take care and actually thought of izuku as izuku not deku should already show somewhat of how much he's changed over the series.

Originally I never liked Bakugo, because of how cocky he was and how he always looked down Deku. But Bakugo seemed to grow on me. when i read this chapter my heart nearly stopped. i felt shocked, but Bakugo he kept going like a true and badass warrior who has come a long way. from being a exploding loud mouth (Which he still is) to one who wants to be a hero and learn to work with others and even atoned for the hell he put Izuku through and apologized and called him by his first name. but if this is the end of Bakugo, i don't know how Izuku will react but i know that Tomura is going to get his ass beaten up more. but if this is the end of Great Murder Explosion God Dynamight, then he died like a real hero.

As cynical as this sounds, I *really* wanna see Deku’s reaction to this. I want him to put the fear of god into Shigaraki and give him an ass-whooping he’ll never forget. Remember, Bakugou only got skewered in the last war arc and Deku went fucking apeshit. Here, Bakugou’s chest has a literal hole in it with a beatless heart. Deku seeing that shit would be like pouring a truckload of gasoline on a campfire.

I don’t believe he’s dead. There’s so many way that the hero’s can fix his heart.

Well, I'd say he was the strongest in Class 1A, besides 75% Deku of course, and villains should be careful when fighting him. Unfortunately for him, he's up against the two strongest villains in history.

Seeing Bakugo look so calm during the All Might vestige thing made me almost tear up for some reason. I have never even been a fan of Bakugo that much but this chapter literally just slapped me into liking Bakugo a lot and then proceeds to slap me twice as hard at the end. He went out fighting literally breaking himself before he accepted defeat at Shigaraki’s hands.

As I said in other videos, I'm reserving judgment until it's officially confirmed Bakugo's dead (either by the characters or by Horikoshi himself), but if he is, then I have gained mad respect for Horikoshi. I had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that one of the Class 1-A students might die, but I didn't think he'd actually have the balls to kill off Bakugo of all people. And to make the scene even more tragic, Bakugo has a hole in his chest much like Best Jeanist did when he tried to fight All For One in the Kamino battle. No doubt the poor man was having flashbacks to that day, only now he has to watch his student suffer the same fate. As for the similarities thing, it's highly possible Bakugo is a descendant of the 2nd user, much like how Mr. Compress was revealed to be the Great-Great Grandson of Oji Harima, the Peerless Thief. Maybe his Quirk is similar to Bakugo's.

Same here. It can always happen that Horikoshi has a trick upon his sleeve because that's how he is, but if it's confirmed, huge respect for him to go for it. Killing off a very loved character is something that takes a lot of guts, because you know that your fanbase is about to go insane the moment they know it's confirmed. And knowing the MHA fandom, there will be a lot of drama. I hope Bakugou makes it, but chances are very little now, but no matter what, Horikoshi will always be my favourite mangaka and I respect his choices, as long as it has any meaning for the rest of the storyline. Maybe I'm just in denial and try to hang on the little hope there is, but I really like Bakugou and I just hope he'll make it.

Knowing that he died truly devastated me that my mood is ruined every single second of the goddamn day. However, just like you, I'm still scheming theories in my head that maybe he is still alive and will just have a quirk awakening or deku's final quirk will save him and etc. Even if a lot of people who hate him say its a waste of tears and emotion, if he is still alive, that'd be great and I'd feel relieved.

I still feel like shit whenever I see a Balugou related video on KZread, because it reminds me of the chapter. I just think he's such a great character who developed so much through the series and it hurts to see him specifically dying then. I don't want to give up on believing that there's a possibility that he can be saved, but if he dies, he did it like a true hero.

@@livewell410 If it's confirmed that Bakugou is dead, I'm not wondered that it's him being the first. Unlike many other class 1-A characters, Bakugou doesn't have a seperate story line from Izuku and All Might, so it'd make sense. Other characters who were attached to them (Star and Stripes, Nighteye) also lost their lives, so it'd make sense. I also think it would've been random to kill Aoyama, just because he's the traitor.

I'm not the only one who saw the arena being pushed towards the ocean right, in other words could that thing coming towards deku be the arena itself despite the fact that the chapters involving the arena came after that panel of deku noticing something in the distance (sort of how like going from battle to battle sometimes means to go back in time a small bit in many shonen)?

It does. The box comments in the panel mentions bakugou was unaware of his body literally exploding everywhere and that it had sped him up to superior levels. It says it in 3rd person, not 1st person. So someone else /story is describing his fight and what hes doing, not bakugou.

His body and powers didnt evolve further than he already was. Bakugous power evolved beyond the point his body was resistant to. Only his arms held any actual resistance to explosions but he was literally exploding all over.

@@LilyUnicorn So basically, Dabi had an incompatible quirk from the get-go, meaning his quirk just wasn't meant for his body to handle, similar to Aoyama or Izuku at the beginning. Bakugo on the other hand, had a compatible quirk that could be handled by his body and grew along with his body. However, as the growth progressed during the final battle, his quirk outpaced his body's capabilities/growth and ended up causing his own doom. I'm going to guess that if this quirk growth/awakening happened in better circumstances, his body would've been able to grow and adapt to handle his quirk accordingly. But due to the dangers of the intense battle, his quirk's growth was sped up immensely without taking his body's conditions into consideration as a way/means to survive/win.

Honestly, now a bigger question than “Is bakugou dead?” Is the question, “Can he come back to life?” Cuz when it comes to his death, He dead as hell yalls, jeanist said his heart stopped, BUT he can be brought back to life! Let me explain… 1. His quirk posses nitroglycerin which is present in medicines that are used as a standard medicine for a heart attack and other major problems so his own quirk can save him IF AND ONLY IF his heart didn’t “EXPLODE” (as many people are implying even tho in the manga it was said his heart STOPPED) 2. Eris quirk. “Eri's Quirk allows her to reverse a living individual's body back to a previous state, allowing her to make her target physically younger, heal injuries, and undo bodily modifications. She has even shown the ability to rewind someone's body to a point before they existed” This is the original explaination of her quirk. Focus on the words “REWIND SOMEONES BODY TO A POINT BEFORE THEY EXISTED” which means she defs can bring some one back to life! 3. Glimpse of the fututre. In CHP 293 or something, a quick show at adult Todoroki ,deku AND BAKUGOU and the rest of 1-A so like- hes alive in the future! 4. The fourth user, as hes explaining in the video.

In the beginning, I wasn't a fan of Bakugo. Over time, I learnt to appreciate his character development. When I read that chapter, I cried so much on the train home from a rough day of school. I couldn't contain myself. Horikoshi must bring Bakugo back, not just for Deku and his family, but also for Aizawa, the person that cares for and supports Bakugo to the point of desperately pleading someone to miraculously save him-- all so that he can continue to become the greatest hero ever. I cried so much more when I read Bakugo wanting All Might's signature but too prideful to ask for it, to seeing his parents' panel, to seeing Aizawa scream in agony (T_T).

I really think they're going to bring him back. Absolutely no way they killed off such a popular character.

The minute I saw the notification I instantly got worried man this chapter is insane Edit: bakugo calling Deku Izuku is bone chilling, that’s like Deku calling him katsuki.

Well the reason why he stopped calling him deku was bcs he originally meant deku as for Midoriya being useless and such. He doesn't mean it now, and he wants to show to midoriya that he can also do his best to change his personality and attitude that's why ever since he apologized, he started calling him izuku

I started watching the show and I fell in love with this character from the very beginning. now, after so many years of watching him grow, he is dead my heart exploded along with yours, the Great Explosive Killing God Dynamite

3:59 I really feel this koshi did great with the "Bakugou acknowledging those he was threatened by as rivals" vibe, I mean he made his eye a straight up a mirror of Todoroki's scar now. His mind speaks to Izuku, and his body reflects Todoroki, the two people who at the start were his greatest percieved threats.

I used to love toga… but now she is to blame for deku being gone and bakago dying… I really hope this isn’t the end to bakago. :-/ RIP bakaGOAT

I think the weather changing is due to Deku using the second user quirk I’m pretty certain the second user is probably related to Bakugo in some way which means the quirk has something to due with producing energy in some way

I think it's just symbolism for Bakugo's death, plain and simple. Temperature rises happen IRL all the time like that. The rain is the perfect backdrop to Bakugo losing his life

@@liamtolias8138 I agree with it being symbolism to Bakugo dying. It's pretty much a shonen trope to have it rain when someone passes away in the show. I don't know if Bakugo is actually going to stay dead, as that would ruin so much for the story in my opinion (if they decided to do a "Shippuden" style sequel since this is the final saga)... But I also think it has something to do with Bakugo's explosions being so hot during those final moments where it was the reason that it caused the air to heat up so much. (Or maybe something is currently happening with Endeavor, or Todoroki)

@@ghoulishtheories7979 If they do a Shippuden style thing then Bakugo dying would be a catalyst moment like Kamina's death in TTGL. I do think Bakugo is definitely going to be dead though. If he's not immediately dead rn, then he's going to be just alive enough to attempt a kamikaze attack and die anyway. But based on the panel right below where he's saying he wanted All Might's autograph, he's definitely dying.

@@xdragoonzero0 The only reason I have the slightest hope, is because I've seen a character with "thread" powers use the threads to basically suture his wounds, even to where when his heart/other internal organs got damaged, he was able to repair them via threads. (Now I know MHA is a completely different story - But I think it would be pretty cool if this is a moment for Best Jeanist to awaken his quirk, or jusst pass his limits and be able to do something similar to help Bakugo) Of course this is some pure copium, but I'll have a little hope. But I do agree that this manga chapter has 100% did it's job to make his death feel impactful. I guess we just have to wait and see what happens at this point.

Remember in the beginning when all might threw a punch so hard it changed the weather and it started raining? And yeah the rain in Shonen is a good indicator that the character just died... What if Deku comes out of nowhere Lightning quick and just before a rain drop hits bakugo's face deku throws a punch so hard at shigaraki the rain drop changes direction and the wind pressure "smashes" all the clouds and dark skies away...and suddenly it's bright and the rain is no where to be seen No rain, No death! Lol

I mean yes, the whole war arc did give the story a slight darker turn with the recent deaths. especially with the characters twice and midnight who were both pretty liked characters. But bakugou, a main character as well as a fanbase fav. It really turned the manga

I may be on my own when I say this, but I never been one that likes the death of characters in stories, especially the good guys. I know some may like it for the progression of the story, but the story can still progress without it. I'm really hoping Bakugo isn't dead and that somehow he still has some fight left in him. Maybe Overhaul hits the battlefield and has a quirk awakening, and now he can use his overhaul quirk with his feet and reconstructs Bakugo 😁

I literally started to cry. Seeing one of my favorite characters die and looking at their dead body just killed me. I know that the story is coming to an end and it would make sense but I can't help but feel like he's coming back. I literally can't stop crying.

Despite bakugo being my favorite character I hope his death is permanent too. Bringing him back I think will cheapen the story. He died trying his best but horikoshi also brought us back to reality that he's just a kid

@@wisteria.7959 his death holds a lot of impact to the story. What his death means to midoriya and so many others. Afo/shigaraki is gonna use his death as a distraction for izuku. Also it adds weight to the irony of the relationship between bakugo and izuku. Bakugo failed and izuku will most likely succeed in being the greatest hero the world has ever known, as the intro says. Then it'll add to the story more bc then we can watch izuku grieve

I’m still trying to keep my cool, I will have to keep the mindset as we will most definitely see his lifeless body in next chapter. I don’t know if he’ll be dead for good, I’m still hoping he won’t be as I feel like he has more to serve in this arc then just going out like that and partially feel it would be a waste to his character, I’m also used to think certain characters with horrifying injuries were dead but came back/revived. I did hear that allegedly Bakugou is going to get a big moment, if it is true I hope it’s good. I’m just struggling to be prepared if the worse is confirmed. 😭😭

Bakugos always been my favorite no matter what he just always seemed the coolest out of anyone in the show if I could have any quirk it would definitely be explosion

Guys, i looked it up. Bakugo does die, as for a hole is in his heart. He is dead for a bit, BUT, he is okay. He has hearing problems, and hes slightly blinded, but (i forget the name) a character saves him and manages to bring him back. He is okay. (Thank god bc i love bakugo hes my fav)

Was fully expecting a big 3 death this chapter, Bakugo getting even more mangled/ dying was a hard turn to take :’(
