Baku Episode 1 | Adult Coloring Book: Mythomorphia by Kerby Rosanes

I tried baby oil as the solvent for blending in this video, for the pros and cons:
Pros: * Blending very quickly and smoothly.
* Very easily to layer on top.
* Making the colors more vivid.
Cons: * Very oily, it will BLEED THROUGH.
* Hard to control, it may smudge the paper.
* It’s not a good choice to apply it to light colors.
Baby oil is just a substitute of professional art blending solvents. You can choose Gamsol to get the better result, but the odor can be a little strong. The tools for using baby oil can be cotton swab (which I used in this video), brush or blending stomp.

It's really relaxing watching you color. I wish I had your talent in the use of choosing the colors. Maybe it will come with time. Thank you for sharing your talent.

I love using the baby oil. The trick to keeping the bleeding down is to use the blending stump as there is less saturation on the stump and it gets into the small areas easier. I got a headache from the mineral spirits so went back to the oil.

Do you have to dry the baby oil before putting on more color?

I'm in love with this page you colored so well :) Regarding the baby oil, i tried once too and quickly got rid of it XD i can't deal with the bleed trough... every page is sacred! ahah but really, i think we can achieve a similar effect with acrylic wash or pastels, just have to be more patient and layer, layer, layer :) right?

Kevin Macleod basically ripped off Pictures at an Exhibition for this music, but good to know there's a copyright-free version of PaaE for people to use in their videos, I may use it in mine. Nice colouring, btw. I wish we could get the blending without the bleed-though. oh well.

Wow Rita, you always give me such great suggestions, thank you! Hugs. My Gamsol caused me a headache, I'm afraid it emits toxic thing which is harmful to the little one in my belly haha.

Hi Shirley, I Always put on a paper mask when using the odorless white spirit. I also get headache when I use that kind of products. You should inform you if you may use this when you're pregnant. Take care :)

I go with 100 % pure essential oil instead. I tried orange oil and lavender oil. Mostly I prefer orange over lavender. You definetly need to test on your paper if there is bleed through or residue of some sort of shadowing after the volatiles are gone. In some books this might occur. But in my Kerby books there is no bleedthrough or leftover. And the book smells awsome at flipping through :-) I apply with a paper stomp as it provides more control and detailed blending.

Did you practice the background style first before you put it in the picture?
