Aleppo is not far from Gaziantep. I have been there before war and ate baklava there, it was like a bad, tasteless copy of Turkish baklava. Also thousands of people from Aleppo were coming to Gaziantep and buying tons of baklava here before war. But some legends say baklava is from Aleppo 😂

I have been in Greece for 10 days in Athens and Thessaloniki, i walked all around these cities. I have not seen even one piece of baklava. In Turkiye you can't walk 200m without seeing baklava. If i make a circle of 200m radius from my house, there are 3 baklava shops.

In it he quotes the words of Xrysippos Tyaneys where not only he described the ingredients and the actual recipe but also he suggested best places to get the best of the ingredients. This was an ancient recipe as made by the Minoans in Crete.

Baklava is an Ottoman dessert. The Ottoman language is a mixture of Arabic, Turkish and Persian, so Baklava was a Turkish word in Ottoman times and still is.

He has the exact text of an even more ancient writer Xrysippos who located the recipe in ancient Minoan texts and not only names all the ingredients and gives the exact recipe but he also points out the places where the best of the best ingredients can be acquired. You are most welcome to visit Bangladesh 🇧🇩 you will find many variation in our cuisine. They're similar spicy like indian cuisines but not everything are same!!! I am Albanian and baklava is a religion but we all know it is Turkish.

As if tensions weren’t hot enough between the two countries🔥I’m not sure this is a great idea! The reality is we are neighbors and too much history being around each other of course the food is also become common. There is a “Greek” way of these dishes and Turkish way. No sense of nationalizing everything.

Greeks have stolen so many dishs/recipes from Turkiye. They normally add a letter i at the end of the name, once they tried to claim ''Lokum’’. They named it ‘’Lokumi’’ but the song from Modonna which contained ''Turkish Delight’’ proved enough. Baklava was discovered and registered by the Ottomans.

I know the answer: Baklava is not Turkish and not Greek, but rather Egyptian, and its name is Assiut, and it is mentioned in the book Al-Wasla ila Al-Habib in the description of good things and perfumes from the twelfth century, that is, before the Ottoman occupation.

Indeed. It was first found there, then moved on to Iran to have some changes, then just got spread through the Middle East. Turkey has made it into what it is today, but it was VERY different at the start.

Claiming that stuffed baklava and yoghurt is not Turkish is like claiming that the word "Olympic" is not Greek. accept or not. Dolma, yoghurt are words of Turkish origin. Baklava is not a word of Turkish origin, I will not deny it, but unfortunately the Turks patented it. so don't be sad.

There is no real agriculture in Greece. It never happened. No food or dessert because of this. Since the Turks do not eat pork, meat is expensive, so meatless and vegetable dishes have developed. 60% of Greek food belongs to Turks.

@@BoogieBubble The Steppes invented Basturma(Pastrami),Baklava and Yogurt and much more. Its pretty realistic if u think about it. Yogurt for example is a very nomadic way of preparation. Just like Basturma (Pressed meat) and Baklava (Stretched dough). Very Nomadic ways of preparing food.
