Very nice, wholesome, clean black movie, with no cursing, sexual, inappropriate scenes, no violence. Wow! I loved it! It's like the hallmark movies, with mostly black people, which I've always wondered why there aren't more black movies like these, displaying middle class - rich families that are just feel good, hopeful movies, which is what the world needs now. God knows, with what's going on in the world, we don't need any sad movies with negative vibes; we need uplifting, hopeful movies to get people feeling more hopeful.

This movie is beautiful, i love how these siblings were competing but still loving one another, advising and helping one another. Now this is what i call a healthy competition.

Perfect family movie! No curse words, no inappropriate scenes. Perfect to watch with the small kids🙏🏾 will be watching it again with my family on Christmas Day

This is the comment I've been looking for. We just finished "Cooking Up Christmas". I had to skip a couple scenes (anger, sadness) but otherwise lighthearted and clean, no cussing...romantic comedy.

IN AWESOME SOLITUDE YOU STOOD ALONE. Not one faint star to give YOU light; just endless darkness, it was blackest night. But somehow in the darkness YOU COULD SEE. YOU SAW mountains high and lofty, YOU SAW valleys lush and green. YOU SAW babbling brooks, and wildflowers grow, YOU EVEN HEARD a robin sing. Then through YOUR COMPASSION STANDING OUT THERE IN YOUR TOMORROW, YOU SAW forum's visitors, their families and friends. 🥰 YOU SAW them as sinners (missing the mark when aiming to solve a problem then creating another resulting in their weaknesses prevailing causing guilt of wrong doing) because there is no intrinsic righteousness in any of us due to Adam’s sin. YOU SAW them as they grew from a baby into adulthood due to YOUR HANDS OF MERCY. 🥰 YOU SAW them pursuing a career path for the purpose of obtaining the gains of the world not realizing that it is a loss compared to what YOU DID on the cross. YOU SAW them working long and laboring hard to receive justification by grace even though YOU stated, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."(John 6:29 KJV) YOU SAW the unwillingness to accept YOUR PLAN OF SALVATION THROUGH YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST. YOU SAW them living with the guilt of committing crimes to the heart. YOU SAW them enduring personal crisis. YOU SAW the weight of the burden on their hearts with each tribulation. YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏👏👏 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow. If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee. Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh. O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. Agreed! I haven’t been too much into Hallmark channel this at Christmas this year or last year. The representation is always lacking. They have gotten a lil better with diversity but it still needs some work… Lifetime does a better job with that tho.

I like how Oprah incorporates reading and entrepreneurship into her movies; also education and reading. Imagine a youth asking his mother to stay up longer to do more reading. Most youths want to stay up longer to do more playing.

It was a breath of fresh air to watch an excellent family Christmas movie.🍿No drama or negativity, just family coming together. It's a blessing to see grown children giving back to their parents. What a great way to spend my afternoon, I love this

I AM L❤VING this movie! Family, food, fun ….. heritage and legacy all wrapped up in JOY TO THE WORLD! We need more movies like this!!!!

Love the fact that in the family disagreements they weren't disagreeable (well maybe once). They lead with love which can't lead you wrong! Great movie!

And it's good to show that if someone says something while upset or gets sideways for a minute, things can be repaired, talked over, made right, & forgiven. Love heals. In real life, it helps to have seen someone change gears, make amends, learn, grow, apologize.... I love it when writers include scenes on how to do the hard things, to face up, or soften up, & keep it real.

I haven't spent Christmas with my family in 23yrs...jus me @ my Son (that's how old he is). If u knew my family you'd understand why!!! My friends are my family @ this movie made "us"feel loved by them!!!

I truly enjoyed watching this Christmas movie, so touching and heartfelt ❤️ much love to the cast and the writers for reminding us how important it is for family to communicate and come to together.

Now this was a bomb movie. My only complaint is it didn’t last longer 😩 but ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the characters and storyline were everything

I love watching black movies without the fighting, cussing, killing, colorism etc just getting along, speaking normally, loving each other, good times, food and embracing family and culture. We are normal people lets normalize our normalcy.

Kudos to the script writer, director, and casting director! This was a great movie with a stellar cast.

LOVED IT!!! it's wonderful to see the meaning of the importance of Christmas and family. That parents work extra hard to keep the family together and give their children warmth and a sense of belonging. Bravo to the wonderful actors as well. The ladies are gorgeous! Great work and thank you all! I enjoyed it immensely. Merry Christmas.

All I can say, I felt like my family was in each movie. I have shared Own's movies with everyone.

Wow. I loved the movie. Us black and brown people feel such a relatable story, and it really hit home. In this movie, there is nothing obscure about how it reflects the reality of black and brown people lives. It's an example of working together and a great reminder of what love and support should look like.

The moral of the story was so rich! Excellent script, presentation, scenery, plot, etc. Definitely one of my favorites.

Arguably, the best family movie I've ever watch! So beautiful and rich with great values and lessons.

Yooooooo Thats My college Teacher Yohance Myles.(Michael) He taught me in Drama class at Jackson State University in 2013. How cool is that! I knew he was an actor but this was a great surprise...

I absolutely love this movie. Wonderful cast, excellent delivery, spot on message and Christmas magic that seems real and just...wholesome without being hokey or dumb.

Own has done an amazing job at creating movies that capture the American dream without the typecasting nightmare. Great job!

Loved this movie! Love when our people are portrayed as being happy and successful! ❤ The character "Tony" sounds like Denzel Washington... ☺

It was a great movie and just was a wise mother bringing her children together to learn an important lesson that nobody had to own the restaurant/bagel shop could all put their special spin on it and still keep it in the family. I love this movie and it was well written and well acted equally♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

And wonderful to see black people in a tv Christmas movie showing all shades of blackness with happy couples and stable, loving black men. This exists in real life. So good to see the media reflect it. And if it doesn't for you, it becomes an example to choose from if you so desire. A real feel-good movie!

That's just the thing. You said it was out there years ago & I'm a movie collector. Yet I'm just now hearing or seeing about this great black family film 🎥. Seems like some one decided we all just want the brutal, violent, sexual, negative drama filled typed movies cause we're black. There's a big audience for these good hearted movies with black folks as the many or the most main characters that plenty of us love more or just as much as any other type ❤ 💕 💗 of black oriented movies 🎬. This is such a beautiful movie.. Oprah we need a part 2 to see the wedding with Angie and Michael and Tony and Brenda new baby and Jennifer launching her cookbook!!! So much to see for our Christmas hearts. I watch this family movie at least 3 times a week. It is a so great. Matter a fact all the Christmas movies have been just a great. Bake War, Sisterly Christmas are such great movies!!

The character playing Michael, his family and I are members of the same church.His name is Yohance Myles. He's a very talented actor.

Absolutely beautiful everything about this movie shows nothing but love for family and how they can pull together and get things family is important and we all should pitch in to help each other no matter what to the writer thank you for the positive message producers directors actresses and actors great cast great work great job thanks for the movie happy holidays peace and love

I've been watching these Christmas movies all evening. I love Christmas 🎄 and I watch these types of movies all year around. Lifetime, Hallmark, and now Own for all my Christmas fixes.

Well life always has some form of drama & challenges as they movie did but it was done in a big toxic. Hateful, abusive, dysfunctional way that so much media & shows are doing now. The older generation usually brings more calm & respect 🙏 that the family has to follow mostly. That's still needed today. But many families live in separate states or cities.

I am glad to know that somebody knows that all black Americans are not involved in gangs, drugs and all the evils of the world. Some of us do seek the good in life, and we ask GOD for his help, it has been proven. Thanks OWN!!!

First Christmas without family as I just found out at 42 that I am apparently a Late Discovery Adoptee 😒. I smiled through this movie but wish I saw it in better spirits... Family does matter.,💞

This Christmas movie will be on my Christmas movie list to watch over and over again. So good, and such a great lesson of learning to work together as a family.

Absolutely beautiful, just the way family should be.

I have just discovered OWN and I’m hooked. It’s so refreshing to see wholesome films promoting strong family values instead of all the nonsense aired on Netflix and on tv. Best of all, it’s an all-black cast too

Great movie. Love the acting, the story line and the food presentation. The sister that was in Paris, is currently on the Soap Opera "The Young and the Restless"... she plays a lawyer.

Not sure how many times I've watched this movie, and it's worth it! Smile

Black Christmas movies have that special touch, that extra depth and soul, getting better year after year. What a pleasure!

There are some good white ones too, but so many are the same story recycled over and over. I enjoy any good Christmas story, regardless of the race represented. Happy Holidays✨🎄✨
