When this song came out i was in the beginning of a new adventure in my life, moved in another country alone without money without nothing.. i was full of dreams, worries and hope. i remember i was listening to this song a lot during that time cause the vibes were the right ones i needed. Now after 8 years I'm an adult, not anymore that small i am still In the same country and I'm ok now I managed to build a life from nothing. might my experience bless everyone of you in the same situation i was.

An evening in summer 2014: I'm sitting in the garden, the birds are chirping and from far you can hear some children laughing. Meanwhile the sun is going down, dipping everything in an orange light. In the sky a plane is flying by with people on their way into their well deserved holidays in it. "One Day (Vandaag)" begins and I'm just...happy. When I'm stressed again, I listen to this song, close my eyes and think back of this evening. Wonderful.

Thats the answer of many people of this question. But please, we MUST do something now. Only together we are strong only together we can be like martin. Because we are just human and not martins. But now we CAN BE LIKE MARTIN IF WE WANT. AND WE WANT. SO lets get started befor it's too late. :)

Me too I LOVE YOU!!!
I heard this song the first time in 2014 or 2015, and 10 years later, on 6th June 2024, i found it. Time passes like crazy. I miss my childhood.
I have a dream, that one day this nation will rise up, and live out the meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal. I have a dream, that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and sons of former salves owners will be able to sit down and gather at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. Your dream came true, but sadly there is still people in the world who are trying to make the dream a nightmare...
The best sax in the world
I'm very glad that people are still coming back to Bakermat's old tracks

Found this because of a wholesome guy who left a comment with similar songs I could like... :)
Don’t forget that same guy speaking about his dream also spoke about the hope of man being judged by the content of his character not his color. Why are we so worried about color these days? Definitely a step backwards.

Ria Chauhan OK, well, I guess you could argue it was more peaceful around 5 years ago. But, looking a bit more broadly, yes, we do live in one of the most peaceful times in modern human history. We have three continents that are almost entirely or entirely made up of democracies that don't have any war on their territory. Think of it, about 70 years ago, it wasn't like that - all of Europe was at war. But until recently, all of Europe was at peace, and a very large part of Europe is still at peace. A decent chunk of Asia is at peace (although democracy is a different story) as well. This is something historic, it's not anything that we've ever experienced before. I'm not saying there aren't any problems, but we have it much better in that sense than the generations before us.

In 2024 this song is still amazing! All the love ❤❤
I love Martin Luther King Jr. so much, such a great, great man. One of the best people to ever set foot on this planet. Dr. King did so much for not just the black race but also impacted other races....but brings a great sadness to me that lots of blacks don't acknowledge him appropriately today.
“TABLE OF BROTHERHOOD” its 2020. The 90’s was a GREAT decade. Now we’re going backwards.
My history teacher in primary school played us this song multiple times. Its simply beautiful.

I understand your point. But the song/the music is just nice. The speech is what’s powerful. So you could just play the whole speech instead of listening to the song. That would be even more powerful.

Not really since the text is "one day" and the title says "today", meaning the person who made it thought we were (almost) there in 2014. He couldn't know or have intended that a black president woulď be replaced by someone like Trump. Someone that refuses to convict those who murder afro americans.

@@MissMoontree I think the message might be that 'one day' _should_ be 'today', instead of him thinking that it was close to 'today'.
