Agreed I bought a boat caster and hated it so I ended up selling it and switched back to my spinner. With a months practice, I can cast just as far, or accurate. Side cast, over head, left right, doesn’t matter. Just takes practice. Bait casters are cool until you get that birds nest and give up. I feel like it’s more for astetic, but some people will swear up and down about it for bass, when there’s really no difference aside from preference. It’s basically a adult version of the button cast reel you use as a kid.

I am more accurate with a spinning rod but I've probably made a few million casts in the last 35 years and they are way more versatile. The only time I prefer a bait cast is for heavy lures that I am going to be doing a lot of working, Like jigs.
I'll stick with my spinning reel I've never struggled with accuracy and distance is rarely a important factor

That's why when I pond hop I got a baitcaster for heavy things like spinnerbaits/swimbaits/big jerkbaits. Then I have my spinning rod for the light things like jigs/plastics/light jerkbaits.
I don't know about the color scheme, but it is refreshing to see such an interesting pattern on a baitcaster.

It's made by profishiency Krazy baitcaster is the name I believe
It also depends on what type of fishing you doing
Hey love your vids keep it up
POV you scroll down some videos and you see the spinning reel one video
U cast further with spinning reels. The spool being horizontal on a casting reel has more drag. Where as the spinning reel has massively less drag from the line coming off rod freely. The upside for casting is the heavy drag ability/ the ability to use heavier lures making it seem like it will cast farther since your lure weighs probably double what you would use on a spinning reel. If you test this in perfect scenario like exact lure, line, rod, and power put into cast. The spinning rod will cast farther. But tbh i never tried myself. Id like to see someone actually test the science to prove/disprove. Also figure out actually how much further it will actually cast. Definitely need a robot to do the casting for you. The are still a lot of variables that would be hard to keep the same but it would be super interesting if done well.
Bait casters are awesome don’t get me wrong but a spinning reel takes the W
Both are pretty good
Dude those are you nicest reels I’ve ever seen!!!! I couldn’t afford one of those ever!!😂
I mean it's really whatever you Can use more effectively
honestly i feel like people make too big of a deal when it comes to backlash and birdsnests, every lure has a sweet spot on the brake and only takes a couple of seconds to find, you only really need to change it when there’s a big difference in weight
@ZenithPotentia

Literally. Once you have you’re baitcaster dialed in, you will almost never backlash unless your technique is bad. In which case, thats not the reels fault but the users.
@JdwagDoesStuff

@@ZenithPotentia EXACTLY, to me the bait caster is all around better if you’re using lures, ofc it’s personal preference but i feel like it’s a lot more accurate in the fact that i can feel the lure a lot better, like with a spinner i feel like i’m just blindly reeling, could just be me tho!
Spinning reels can be just as accurate

That's interesting.... Everyone else I've seen do a video on this topic says spinning reels cast further and hold more line but baitcasters are more accurate
I like both. Heavy lures I’m taking my bait caster. Lighter stuff definitely spinning reel, or if I’m fishing at night with lots of trees around I’ll use a spinning reel. But if I’m fishing at the beach at night and seeing I don’t have to worry about anything above the water I’ll use a bait caster.

You can use something like bfs and then just skip the lure.
Casting is for heavy or big profile bait fishing or species of fish spinning is for finess and light weight baits for fresh water

Baitcasters for cranking and other Lures that require a lot of torque spinning reels for finesse applications
Baitcasters are so much more fun to use and once you get good I find that they are faster to cast, more accurate, and easier to launch lures farther. If you need reliability or just an all around rod to do anything, go spinning. If you have multiple setups, use your lighter stuff with spinning and heavy stuff with baitcasting. Backlashes really aren’t a problem once you get used to it. Maybe a couple per season but really not that bad.
I can cast a spinning reel farther 🤷♂️

Spinning 1000%
I normally only used baitcasters with heavy lures and on the bottom with just a hook free linings, i use spinning majority for all my applications but use it for my light weedless setup and especially flicking into tight areas that are heavily wooded or under dock with the slingshot technique
I only get wind knots with braid, when the line is put on twisted on my spinning reels. Memory with Mono/flourocarbon will also cause wind knots.
Bait casters are my fav

Crazy drum
Feel like I can cast a spinning reel a lot further a lot easier that with a casting reel. I use both. Each has their own purpose. Getting to where I like spinning reels more over casting.
The brand of reels at the start are Profishiency if anyone else was wondering
For normal or heavy lures I use my baitcasters. For anything else I use spinning combos. For small sunfish, light lures, live or cut bait.
Ill simplify the video into 5 easy to follow steps for anyone who is trying to figure this out: 1. Are you currently using a baitcaster? - Use a spinning reel 2. Are you just starting fishing? - Use a spinning reel 3. Do you want to have fun? - Use a spinning reel 4. Do you want to catch big fish? - Use a spinning reel 5. Are you a masochist? - Use a baitcaster
baitcasting becomes easy once you know how to use it and all the features
I’ve found I can’t cast as far with a baitcaster as I can with spinning since the line is free.
@JesseFuches
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I really don’t understand how a baitcaster allows a longer cast. With a spinning real there’s minimal friction happening because the line literally just flies out of the spool.
That fishing pole is FIRE 🔥
Once I went to a bait caster, I can’t go back to spinning because of the lures I use now.
I love my Krazy Spinning Reel!
I absolutely love the look of a bait caster but like he said they can be hard to use
Both have their uses like for example I would use a bait cast or open face style reel for large lures or if I need to work the lure fast but for the most part I would use a bait cast for any lure that’s not a jig, if it’s a jig I tend to use a spinning reel. If I’m using live bait or just simply surf fishing at the beach or bay I’m using a spinning reel. With all this being said though there is a difference in price as-well.
That fishing pole is FIRE
I love seeing you so happy when you catch a big fish and I catch those drum right by the dock down south Louisiana and they are so fun to catch as we are cleaning fish
Spinning reels can be really accurate it just depends if ur good with it.
When fishing live bait in socal, conventional and baitcasting reals are better as the line is facing away from the rail. However spinning is better for stuff like catfish and trout
I’ve been stuck on a closed reel and found a left out spinning reel on a rod and there’s just something about spinning reels that are cooler to use than closed reels
For me just depends on what you were throwing you’re throwing something heavy like A top water you use a bait caster if you’re throwing something like a weightless Texas rig then you would use a spinner
We use both at several sizes . I have a bait caster I crappie fish with and a couple spinners that are for bass . So no preference. Both
Bro I can get a spinning rod and real for 10 dallers and it works great
I love seeing you catch those fish right by the dock I catch those drum to at down south Louisiana as we are cleaning the fish

Drag is also typically much better in a spinning reel. As a bass fisherman, I’m using a bait caster 90% of the time.
Both, both are good
The distance and accuracy is user error. When it comes to catching fish on lures it’s all about presentation. And the fish can’t tell the difference between a 40 dollar Walmart combo and a 500 dollar bait caster on some ridiculous rod built specifically for the lure your using.
I use a spinning reel

Fish with whatever makes you comfortable and happy!
I am a beginner and i bought a bait caster and oh boy, it took mi like 5 hours of continuous casting to kinda learn myself what's it all about, and i still prefer my spinning reel (my caster has no magnetic brakes)

If distance is problem of spinning reels, why then we use spinning reels for carp fishing where we need to cast over 120 meters???
Spinreel for bream and catfish and baitcaster for bass
I grew up on spinning reel lovd them
Should I get a spinning reel for catfish because I’m going to a loaded pond with huge catfish but I only have a bait caster so should I buy a spinning for cats and carp. And stick with the bait caster for bass
If you want to cast into the wind then set the magnetic brake high and put more tension on the control knob always get a magnetic brake bait caster They are the best for all levels of people and I will never use anything else besides magnetic breaks and you can cast light lures just put some split shots on it I do it all the time that's how I got my first golden rainbow trout not on anything else but a bait caster yes first 2 months I had issues but when I got more and more I can ez get 75 yard cast 20 yards with very light lures and anything above 1 ounce I can easily get 90 to 100 yard cast it greatly depends on the pole that you are using
Question where can i buy that reels😂i love the look
Where’d you get that spin reel
The only time I use a spinning reel over my baitcasters is if I wanna fish tiny and light lures but even in the wind I’d much rather use the baitcaster
O like spinning reals a lot better for me I just don’t like how you have to have more than 1 oz to cast it decently or really bad backlash
Spinners are just as accurate
I’ve used both and like both
Spinning is for light lures and the bait casters are for heavy that’s all ik about em so it’s good to have both
It’s all situation dependent. You need some of both to fish effectively.
Wher do you get the color way in the bait caster
Never going back to spinning after buyin baitcasters. Center of gravity on the grip is way diffrrent
What brand are those reels??
What is the reel brand
Where did you get this reel
I would never ever use a bait caster for surf fishing
My profishency patriot baitcaster spool broke puting line it i but another brand lews baitcaster xfinity combo is best
I like both
What brand is that
Where can i buy that reels?
We’re you get the one rods you just showed
Where did u get that color way?
Those Profishency reels/rods are AMAZING. No joke, and they are affordable. Lews is still my go to, but those are good and look even better. But Baitcaster 100x, I can just use an lighter rog for lighter weights. Backlash only happens when the reel isn't tuned. "Half the speed of gravity" and don't put to much line on the reel.
What reels are they
I like spinning reels because the only time i used a baitcaster was halibut fishing and you didn’t cast because of the heavy weight
Spinning reels have a greater casting range than a bait caster, the line on a spinning reel has zero resistance compared to a bait casting reel where it has to pull on the spool to get line out
What was the massive fish near the end?it looks like some sort of bass to me but I can’t tell
