Can I just say I adore how Bailey says "I like my smile as it is, I'm just getting braces to protect my teeth." I wish I had that self confidence when I was her age. Also, I think the braces really complement her!

I was just thinking the same thing!

I had braces almost 20 years ago and I still remember the pain each month after I got them tightened. I would have my appointment right after school and then immediately after I would get fast food for dinner because by the time dinner was served to the rest of my family, the pain would have set in and I couldn't bite down on anything. I remember trying to eat Macaroni and Cheese once and even that hurt.

I'm 27 and I have braces since I was 23. I'm finally starting the process of removing it next week. I was told it would be just 1 year and a half but nope, it took 4 years. Hope you don't get pain when adjusting it every month. I didn't have much. Best of luck and your smile will be worth it 💖

What a trooper! I remember when I had braces and the wire pokes in my cheeks and gums. heat packs on the sides of your jaw can be helpful for pains.

I had braces from 6th-8th grade. Getting them tightened was sort of painful, but my mom always took me to get ice cream after the orthodontist :) I missed out on caramel apples and so many treats during those years, but it made them taste even better once I got them off. I loved getting to choose different colored rubber bands each time though.

Oh Bailey! I’m sorry they are hurting you! I remember the pain does lessen. Then, it will flare up every time you get your bands changed! I got my braces too early, and I grew in molars that are all wonky! I had braces to fix wonkiness!

I think the pain at the beginning of having braces is the worst - so hopefully that helps! also it always helped me to remind myself that when it’s hurting that means the braces are doing what they are supposed to do. it will pay off bailey!

I’ve had braces twice. My teeth look great - the pain is worth it! Make sure you take good care of them!

I opted for invisalign as an adult getting braces, ,both for the looks and minimizing pain and it worked out. No pain and nobody really noticed until I said I had them. I had a little case to stick the trays in.

The braces look great!! You can also always ask for more wax if you need-my orthodontist kept me stocked up back when I had braces! (Also I’m probs a bad influence but I totally still ate gummy candy/gum/popcorn with mine, I just made sure to brush/floss extra well after! And also picked gum/candy that wasn’t CRAZY sticky. Like skittles and sour patch and stuff were totally fine!) (but also follow the rules I guess. Hahaha)

I have had my braces on for about 2 and a half years now. The pain comes and goes when they tighten them and put the bands all the way across we are currently in the process of trying to gap my top to hopefully slowly move my jaw over but hopefully soon I can get mine off🥲 I hope your experience is better than mine I just had very crooked teeth🫠

When my daughters had braces, they would cook Cheerios in a skillet with butter and salt. That was their popcorn replacement. It's really good!

the bands dont always hurt getting taken out! & the braces dont always hurt either!! usually the first week or so that you get them they will be sore but after that it will feel normal, & the pain from the bands was probably because you had to go back so soon after your first visit while it was all still sore. so it won't be this painful always i promise!!! ( i had braces for a really long time)

Bailey, I got braces in fifth grade and they just tore up my mouth something awful. I then had to perform in a concert with a solo at the peak of pain. Did you cry? I tooootally cried like a baby after the concert. Bonus was, I got ice cream after. That said,they look so good, you'll only have to deal with em for a year, so you're really lucky in that way! Also, what a fun way to surprise your brothers! Teddy and Luke's reactions were priceless!❤ Love y'all!❤

My Mom and brother got braces at the same time. Later, the dentist suggested I get braces because my front teeth were an incy-weencie bit off, and my parents said NO! My teeth are nearly perfect. Talk about my back, ears, eyes, and legs, there was a reason I never got braces. God bless you. Hope you're feeling better!

i have braces but even before that i had expaneders to expand my jaw and now i have braces and i had them on for about a year now. Some tips for bailey for getting braces: do not eat gum, gummies or like really hard foods

The braces look great, Bailey :) A little tip going forward in your braces journey, try to eat before your appointments (then brush!) and it’s not a bad idea to take advil or tylenol just beforehand also. (Ibuprofen works well for dental pain) Medication beforehand will help get on top of the discomfort quicker after the appointment. When it’s minor movements later on in treatment you may not notice the tightness or get any pain. Have fun with the colour choices!

My orthodontist told me there were safe ways to eat most foods. I currently have braces as an 18 year old and 8 still am able to enjoy popcorn, and I have that I can eat gummi bears without getting them stuck. With the popcorn you just have to make sure the kernels are completely popped!

My number one advice very important! Wax never worked for me at all there is absolutely no point whatsoever to it! I had wires poking my gum soooo badly!! The dental assistants tried to say to put wax on it or that it was “fine” nope they were being lazy!!! Make sure if you feel the wires you go to the dentist and get those wires cut!! 😊😊😊

i know you’ve had kids with braces, but if you feel something poking and want to fix it right away, i would just call and ask them if they have a second to fix, my dentist usually did it, i know they are all different and the wax does help, i just hated wearing the wax 😂

I'm probably going for a 2nd time, too, after 4 years of them in teenage years. I didn't keep up with retainers.. that's so important.

You got this you and my son have to wear braces for about the same amount of time be super super diligent when they talk to you about your rubber bands because that can make the time right at a year.

I had braces when I was younger I also needed an expander in the roof of my mouth and honestly that one was way more painful. But yes braces are painful but it's better than them impacting later. I remember not being able to eat pizza at first without cutting it, I was so sad about that but after getting used to it I could eat it regularly again.

U look great with braces! Ouch ouch is all I can think lol

bailey looks great in braces!! rn I actually have invisalign and I can understand the hassle in removing, cleaning your teeth, then putting the trays back in which I’ve been doing for a year and a half… it’s still annoying haha but you get used to it. I chose invisalign rather than braces bc I like the option of being able to eat whatever I want. I also wear glasses so the glasses + braces combo might look a bit weird for me lol, I wouldn’t think I’d pull it off unfortunately 😭 **also what she mentioned about pain, the pain is going to be the absolute WORST the first few weeks. it gets way better over time, but I remember it taking 10 minutes for me to put in & out bc it was that painful… agh

Bailey, some advice from my mistake: after braces wear your retainer! For awhile all the time - then keep it bc teeth can continue shifting.

I got braces on January 13th, 2021 and got them off on April 11th,2022 so only a year and 3 months. My teeth were pretty straight so that’s why I didn’t need braces for that long

When I was a kid I got my dad piers and cut the wire in the back. Oh I got fussed at by dentist. Lesson learned . That was back in the 80’s. lol

I had braces when i was 13. I wish i took better care of my teeth. I have to get implants eventually. Taking care of your teeth is so so important i wish i took better care of myself. I will be 33 in a couple of months july 9th to be exact

Jacob has been! You should check out his channel- he works really hard on it. Bailey and Parker have started to be a little more active on ig. We let them lead with their own projects, though. I know Bailey wants to work more on her KZread channel, but she’s been focusing more on her college work this semester.

Dear Bailey, I got my braces pretty much as soon as my secondary set of teeth were in because for some reason they all came in wonky and I had my braces for what felt like 5 years. Most times my teeth hurt for the first 3 days.

Heads up, light colours get stained by foods like curry, bolonagse and other staining foods !! I miss my braces

They look so good on her !! I know this will sound silly but coming from someone who had braces for 3 years this really helps. If her braces are hurting / feeling kinda achy, put an ice pack or freezer pack (I’m from the uk I don’t know what you call them sorry 😂 ) on the front of your lips and it will slightly numb the mouth, easing the pain. This really helped me when I had braces. 🩷

I just wanted to say I think people forget that even though the photos are online, she was in her own home with her family and bows are really in!
