The world's big economies, such as the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, and China, provide foreign aid for the socioeconomic development of relatively poor countries. In 2021, these assistance-providing countries gave a total of $179 billion as foreign aid, which was 4.4 percent more than in 2020. Countries that provide foreign aid don't always provide assistance directly but through various NGOs, non-profit organizations, and monitoring funding organizations such as ADB, IMF, and other organizations. In the fiscal year 2022, Bangladesh also collected a total of 10 billion dollars in foreign aid from several developed countries and international organizations such as ADB, World Bank, Japan, Russia, and China. However, despite billions of dollars worth of foreign aid, many developing countries around the world still remain poor. In today's videos, we will explain how does foreign aid actually work?
