They were meant to sing together. I grew up listening to them as the background to every task that I undertook. There is so much emotion in the combination of their voices, the soulful lyrics, and the haunting music. Such a loss....

Is there any doubt about singing being an art. Personally I feel Jagjit jee is class apart singer but Chitra ji doesn’t match it(with due respect to Chitra ji)

I remember cassettes were played to hear this masterpiece. 🎧🎧🎧 very sweet ghazal 🥀🥀🌹🌹

They complemented each other superbly. Greatness of Jagjit Singh lies in the fact that when destiny compelled him to sing solo, he outperformed and overshadowed the duo called "Jagjit Singh & Chitra Singh"

Comparing Jagjit and chitra is probably the silliest thing in the world. Chitra became Jagjit when she sang. They are one. The soul of this music is Jagjit's , he selected poetry, he composed, he arranged music, and he sang. But all my favorite Jagjit ghazals were composed in seventies and eighties.

Chitra was equally a great singer like Jagjeet Singh and the duo sung some beautiful ghazals together like this one. Unfortunately Chitra died early and Jagjeet continued to sing with Chitra going obscured a little though the music lovers still listen to her ghazals and love her singing. ❤️ From Karachi Pakistan 🇵🇰.

Chitra Singh never came forward to claim her place as singer of different kind, remaining in the shadow of a great singer of different stature. People now talk about Jagjit Singh only --- Chitra placed in 'also ran' category. I feel unhappy !

I agree completely. Chitra Singh has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard ! Love her songs. They bring tears to my eyes.
