Other advantages of bagless is that you can dump the dirt after every vacuum. This means you've got nothing rotting in the machine and it's at optimal efficiency. You can see what you've vacuumed up so you can retrieve the Lego bricks, socks, earrings, etc that you accidentally sucked up. Bagged is a bit less messy (unless you're trying to find something in the bag that shouldn't have been sucked up or you've got some rotting food in it) and lower maintenance.

Having a bag-less vacuum, you have to take it outside to dump or get the super fine dust everywhere. And washing the filter and inside gets tiring very fast. I wish I would have bought a bag vacuum.

We have five animals yet I like a clean house so vacuum every day. That would get very expensive with Miele bags!

I know bagged is better. You just toss the bag and good to go. Baggless have to clean everything ect. But it seeing the dirt go in and bin fills. Makes you think it cleaner like seeing it vrs not seeing the stuff go in.

I have always had bagless cylinder Dyson's. Just purchased a Bagless CX1 Cat & Dog which is very powerful. I don't mind doing a bit of regular maintenance on my vacuum cleaner, not a big deal for me as it keeps the machine in good working order.

I have a bagless Bosch ProSilence 66 since 2014 and it is really a painful tool: it has a low suction power, filter gets stuck quickly with the result of an even worse cleaning ability. But is when it comes to clean it that things get really crossing: the only suitable place to do such is outdoor (a terrace in my case) as it holds a ton of ultrafine dust that spreads all around instantly. It is also likely to breath it. If you do that indoor you'll have to vaccum again and that becomes a loop as you can immagine. As far as I can see the Miele filter cleaning seems easier and better engineered, what's the owners' experience about this aspect? Thanks

Bagged is objectively better. There is no competition. Dyson and Shark have done on a wonder on people with their marketing. My Miele C3 has 4 times the suction power of a v15, it is much better made, it has objectively superior filtration, the bag lasts 6 months minimum and it can restore even the most hair covered sofa in seconds. There's no need to replace the battery, the HEPA filter lasts 3 times as long and is significantly cheaper, as well as resulting in no mess when I do need to replace the bag due to the dust cover. I had a V15 detect and it was one of the worst vacuums I have ever owned, it wouldn't suck up anything that wasn't fine dust, I had to wash the filters after every second use, and the nozzle would constantly get blocked. It is a toy compared to a proper bagged canister vacuum.

To me, the only thing that matters.... is spiders. If I use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the spider, with bagged one, I can remove the bag, throw it away and I'm golden. With a bagless I have to throw away the whole vacuum cleaner.
