17:18 Regarding offering sweets --- In India, if someone accomplishes anything like new job, promotion, marriage, blessed with kid, bought new vehicle or house or if any major festival like Diwali, Holi etc. , people share/exchange sweets to share their happiness. (If they return from religious places like temple or puja, they offer prasad/offerings). As for this scene, Father's colleague who was quite younger than him(they should have cast better) offered him sweet gesturing he had a baby. And he was surprised when he was offered the sweets in return with the same gesture as he was not expecting it from the Father considering the age gap.

@@ChaatNChat Actually that's a problem with all the industries present in India. Even if someone does something like that it does not get that much of a fame. In this case badhaai ho is an exception, and you still will notice that most of the reactors have not reacted to this one just cuz of the same reason. There's another film that I will like to mention named Mimi. If you like the idea of these films then plz give it a watch. Although I am a big fan of hrithik as you might know from most of my comments if you remember me, he has done very few of these unique ones (as he follows the hit formula). Among those one will be guzaarish - it has hrithik's best acting. Without spoilers - this movies follows the story of a magician who is now paralyzed due to an accident on stage and now after 14 years of suffering he wants to commite suicide in a respectable way - Euthanasia. It also has the legend Aishwarya rai. Plz give it a watch too with dadaji if possible. And(it's a request) plz try to watch either koi mil gaya, kabhi khusi kabhi gham or guzaarish with dadu before he leaves. I just love him, he reminds me of my dadu.

Watch Neerja , it is a phenomenal movie based on the true incident in an air hostess, Neerja Bhanot's life. One of the finest works of sonam kapoor

Also watch badhai do next! It's also fun movie that touches another taboo topic in India.

One suggestion : can you please make the subtitles a little bigger? Most of us watch on phones so it's a bit hard to read it. Better if you can crop the subtitle area and add it separately in a bigger size.

Good idea. I will try that. The movie we watched last night had super super small subtitles that we could barely read on a full screen. I will try to increase the size. (Sometimes they put the subtitles over the actual image and that isn't possible to increase the size but when it is over black like this movie we should be able to. I will keep that in mind. Pavithram and Dasaratham both starring the legendary Mohanlal dealt with these topics in the late eighties and early nineties. You could add them to your review list. We have Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi movies now. We plan on watching the rest of LCU once Dadu heads back to India and also some more Telugu movies like Eega and Kannada movies like 777 charlie.
