Worked many oilfield supply/construction ships, never fishing...but this is pretty normal. Its just too costly to keep a ship/crew on location and not work, so while the pace may slow the work can't stop completely just because people might get soaked. Doesnt matter how cols it is until ice begins causing problems. I am willing to bet fishi g boats like this are the same when it comes to weather, basically it has to get rough to the point that the vessel, crew, and equipment must be in mortal danger of loss before shut down. Everything you think you know about labor laws are not tge same offshore.....you cant stop tending a diver for example because its break time..breaks are taken in turns and its 99.999 % 12 hour minimum shifts when running 24 hours (2 shifts) but if the boats running " daylight hours only" then your more than likely to be gettimg 14-18 hour shifts...sometimes 24+ straight...I miss the adventure and the money but no matter what your getting paid there comes a time when you would gladly trade it for 2 weeks on shore withiut pay. Diving had no real schedule with some exceptions but usually the crew would first load and set up the ship, travel to location, do what needs to be done, maybe moving many times, and people other than deckhands would ask for releif if needed (but doing so might end a career with a company or golden child status) but would generally stay until finished. Ive been on several 10 day jobs that ended up beimg 12 weeks or more...of course we might apend entire shifts traveling to new locations or come in for one or 2 nights for weather and stay aboard rather than everyone commute hundreda of miles home for a night then back at moments notice so 12 hour shifts stay in effect even if nobody actually works theu still get their 8 reg+ 4 overtime a day....

I see your winches are spooling line in, what are ya dragging for? When ya took water over the stern, I thought maybe the tow had got hooked on something. Watching the seas, makes me remember WHY I got off the sea!(;>)
