That the Mrs. didn't laugh much is what makes this one of my favorite reaction channels. Completely authentic. Plus, she did laugh a lot more than she admits at the end because the movie is too absurd not to chuckle at things from time to time.

This is my all time favorite Christmas movie. I'm disappointed Mrs Movie didn't enjoy it, but I RESPECT the fact that she just came out and said it. Other reactors may have pretended to enjoy it since it's a cult classic, but she stuck to her guns. I love that. Keep giving us genuine reactions!

He didn't have to dig deep for that. That is the entire point of the movie. How the innocence of a kid can change even the worst human being. So the movie had to portray a wreck of a human being so that even the small change can be appreciated. You're focused on how bad Santa is that you missed the point of the movie.

Well it also depends on the person's sense of humor. If they don't find the horrible behavior of Thornton to be funny then the movie will fall flat. It is because he delivers all his lines in such a funny way. A lot of the humor is mean-spirited and cynical, though it is for the sake of the arc of his character, but you still need to find the mean-spirited humor funny on the way to the end of the movie. The movie works for me because I have a very dark sense of humor and you sort of need that to enjoy watching the character's journey.

He's an awful human being, and everything he does is super cringe... in some ways it reminds me a bit of the lads in Peep Show, or David Brent (UK Office), or Andy Millman (Extras)... and yet you do also feel sorry for their train-wreck of a life and feel good for them when they 'get it' and something maybe grows from all the chaos and sorrow.

I took my wife to this movie on our first date with no clue to what it was like. She did not laugh once during the movie amd after I told her how sorry I was. She told me it was OK and not to worry about it. Months later when it was released on DVD She wanted to rent it and watch it again. I told her I thought she hated the movie becuase she didn't find one thing amusing about it. She told me was doing her best not to laugh because it was our first date and she didn't want me to know she found it very funny.

Yeah I think sometimes people miss the heart in it. Willie is unlikeable but you can tell he’s gotten that way through a bad childhood leading to bad choices and he’s been dead inside, it’s sad really then Thurman seems to be the only one who can get him to waken up a bit

Something about the pauses in this film. The perfect amount of hang time for the bottle to hit the windshield of the car in the parking lot, the reactions of actors at key moments...hell even how long he stays on the escalator before folding is perfect. I mean after like the 6th or so re-watch (over on Patreon) with you guys was still a blast! Movies are subjective and comedy is arguably the most subjective genre with a narrow margin between funny and not. Some people fall into the latter category. I'm sorry if your day was ruined. But you're not watching the movie. You're watching someone else watch it. If you like the people it shouldn't matter what they think. I like that she is unable to conceal her feelings on something. Makes it a true reaction as opposed to others who make exaggerated faces and just describe what they're seeing to kill time because they really don't have anything to say and are just trying to get through the video while they keep a smile plastered on their face and deliver a laugh more fake than Jimmy Fallon's. Those channels do exist.

The point is that the movie is considered by many people to be very funny and I consider it one of the funniest movies ever. And because it's one of my favorite movies, I want to share the experience with other people. Naturally, I want them to like it. I want them to have as good of an experience as I had. This is the whole point of showing it to someone. You want to have a shared experience. This doesn't work if the other person hates the experience. And for some people, those that have a little too much empathy, it ruins their experience because they are connected with the other person and they feel what they're feeling. As for your last point, I agree, if there is one thing worse than a person not liking something that you like, it is if they pretend to like it when they really hate it. There is nothing worse than connecting with another person and then realizing that they are fake. Unfortunately, now that people can make money on YT, you have all sorts of people making useless "content" where the whole point is clicks. There was a time when people made videos because they had truly something to say. Their reward was just people watching. Now it's all about the money. This sucks because now you have to rummage through a pile of trash just to find something worth your time.

I had a similar reaction to Mrs. Movies the first time I watched it, but now it's one of my fave holiday films... I do still have to look away when the ice cream kid sneezes on Santa... I will literally gag at that scene... One of my favorite parts of this film is John Ritter's character... He's so prudish, it's hilarious, especially after growing up watching him play such a hound on Three's Company. I’ve seen this 100 times and just now realized something. The reason the grandma isn’t weirded out by Willie being there is because she thinks he’s the kids dad back from prison. In the scene where Willie thinks she’s dead, she wakes up and says “ROGER! You’re home!” The kids dad name is Roger. 🤯never made that connection.

That the Mrs. didn't laugh much is what makes this one of my favorite reaction channels. Completely authentic. Plus, she did laugh a lot more than she admits at the end because the movie is too absurd not to chuckle at things from time to time.

I bet this was all premeditated. She deliberately held back her laughter to make it seem funnier, even though we all know she was losing her $hit the whole time. They just edited those parts out.

This is my all time favorite Christmas movie. I'm disappointed Mrs Movie didn't enjoy it, but I RESPECT the fact that she just came out and said it. Other reactors may have pretended to enjoy it since it's a cult classic, but she stuck to her guns. I love that. Keep giving us genuine reactions!

He didn't have to dig deep for that. That is the entire point of the movie. How the innocence of a kid can change even the worst human being. So the movie had to portray a wreck of a human being so that even the small change can be appreciated. You're focused on how bad Santa is that you missed the point of the movie.

Well it also depends on the person's sense of humor. If they don't find the horrible behavior of Thornton to be funny then the movie will fall flat. It is because he delivers all his lines in such a funny way. A lot of the humor is mean-spirited and cynical, though it is for the sake of the arc of his character, but you still need to find the mean-spirited humor funny on the way to the end of the movie. The movie works for me because I have a very dark sense of humor and you sort of need that to enjoy watching the character's journey.

He's an awful human being, and everything he does is super cringe... in some ways it reminds me a bit of the lads in Peep Show, or David Brent (UK Office), or Andy Millman (Extras)... and yet you do also feel sorry for their train-wreck of a life and feel good for them when they 'get it' and something maybe grows from all the chaos and sorrow.

I took my wife to this movie on our first date with no clue to what it was like. She did not laugh once during the movie amd after I told her how sorry I was. She told me it was OK and not to worry about it. Months later when it was released on DVD She wanted to rent it and watch it again. I told her I thought she hated the movie becuase she didn't find one thing amusing about it. She told me was doing her best not to laugh because it was our first date and she didn't want me to know she found it very funny.

Id say she found some of it funny and was holding laughs in or masking it with disgust. Its potty humour and they commit to it with this movie. Also Billy Bob Thornton wasnt acting in this he was just being himself 😂.
I always loved this movie, but watching the Mrs. looking SOOO uncomfortable made me love it that much more!

I can usually tell when Mrs. Movies isn't going to like something. It has little to do with the content of the movie, but the mood she brings to the table beforehand. Still, I love this movie.
Your wife is absolutely the first person I’ve ever seen that didn’t love this film. I mean, She didn’t get it at all. When I saw this in the theater, it was sold out & the crowd was laughing so loud & hard, it was crazy as hell. My fiancé was laughing so hard, she started crying.
The Academy really made a misstep not nominating Billy Bob for that performance and that screenplay which, for my money, is one of the sharpest and most hilarious of the 2000s. "Performance? Like Sexual?" never EVER fails to make me cackle 😂

Yeah I think sometimes people miss the heart in it. Willie is unlikeable but you can tell he’s gotten that way through a bad childhood leading to bad choices and he’s been dead inside, it’s sad really then Thurman seems to be the only one who can get him to waken up a bit
When I watch this now as an adult and a parent my heart just breaks for Thurman. Feel so bad for him but he’s hilarious too 🤣

Something about the pauses in this film. The perfect amount of hang time for the bottle to hit the windshield of the car in the parking lot, the reactions of actors at key moments...hell even how long he stays on the escalator before folding is perfect. I mean after like the 6th or so re-watch (over on Patreon) with you guys was still a blast! Also . . . god damn is the bit with hand wound so funny tied with when Willy does what we ALL have wanted to do to the kid bully in every film...LOL! Merry Christmas from Cape Cod, MA!

Seriously rest in peace to John Ritter and Bernie Mac. Both of these guys were so entertaining. I always loved John Ritter in the Problem Child films.
One of my favorite Christmas movies. I remember watching it with my grandmother and at first she was talking about how inappropriate it was, then I would look over and she would be laughing her ass off.

I for example enjoy comedy but hate Jeff Dunham, I honestly can't choose if its him or Amy Schumer that offers less comedic value to me. Movies are subjective and comedy is arguably the most subjective genre with a narrow margin between funny and not. Some people fall into the latter category. I'm sorry if your day was ruined. But you're not watching the movie. You're watching someone else watch it. If you like the people it shouldn't matter what they think. I like that she is unable to conceal her feelings on something. Makes it a true reaction as opposed to others who make exaggerated faces and just describe what they're seeing to kill time because they really don't have anything to say and are just trying to get through the video while they keep a smile plastered on their face and deliver a laugh more fake than Jimmy Fallon's. Those channels do exist.

The point is that the movie is considered by many people to be very funny and I consider it one of the funniest movies ever. And because it's one of my favorite movies, I want to share the experience with other people. Naturally, I want them to like it. I want them to have as good of an experience as I had. This is the whole point of showing it to someone. You want to have a shared experience. This doesn't work if the other person hates the experience. And for some people, those that have a little too much empathy, it ruins their experience because they are connected with the other person and they feel what they're feeling. As for your last point, I agree, if there is one thing worse than a person not liking something that you like, it is if they pretend to like it when they really hate it. There is nothing worse than connecting with another person and then realizing that they are fake. Unfortunately, now that people can make money on YT, you have all sorts of people making useless "content" where the whole point is clicks. There was a time when people made videos because they had truly something to say. Their reward was just people watching. Now it's all about the money. This sucks because now you have to rummage through a pile of trash just to find something worth your time.
I love this movie I think it's hilarious but it's okay if someone else doesn't think it's funny I still enjoyed the reaction

I had a similar reaction to Mrs. Movies the first time I watched it, but now it's one of my fave holiday films... I do still have to look away when the ice cream kid sneezes on Santa... I will literally gag at that scene... One of my favorite parts of this film is John Ritter's character... I’ve seen this 100 times and just now realized something. The reason the grandma isn’t weirded out by Willie being there is because she thinks he’s the kids dad back from prison. In the scene where Willie thinks she’s dead, she wakes up and says “ROGER! You’re home!” The kids dad name is Roger. 🤯never made that connection.

I watched this movie with a former girlfriend. She had a similar reaction as the Misses. She kept looking over and asking what was wrong with me to find so much of it funny.
