One of the best compliments I've ever gotten! Thank you!
Setting the focus on really important stuff that often go overlooked. Love it!
Ending is something 😂
The educational content is back let’s goooooo
The ending statement was hilarious and caught me so off guard
Bruh!!! Great video and well explained. Simple and very helpful. I've been missing the single jump for grounding, thanks.
Hitting the ball hard is bad advice if it's the only advice. I would say learning how to hit the ball hard early game is decent advice because it sets up a constant value in one of your touches. Over time applying more tips and building on that structure will smooth over these variables.
plat advice 2020: "hit ball hard ffs" plat advice 2024: "soft touches" me since 2015: aaaaaaaaahhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHH great video
Breaking is so underrated...
These mechanics are so much more useful than most rocket league tutorials, thank you so much!

@@Grifflicious I feel like ball control in general is way to slept on as a skill. I’ve just never heard someone go in depth on different techniques for actually controlling a ball coming at you. Really useful stuff
Nice video, m8! Hopefully you can upload more often, because you do have quality content.

Thank you so much!
Learning mechanics like air dribbles and flip resets hurt my gameplay at first because it made me neglect my fundamentals and I didn’t work on the game sense to even have the space to execute those kinds of plays in a game I played some 1v1 to help and had a friend coach me, some challenges he gave me that sucked to do but helped a ton were -> only allowed to do single jump challenges ~> not allowed to grab big boost -> not allowed to go under 15 boost My positioning and spacing immediately improved and when I let myself flip again and grab bigger boosts (when appropriate) I could now find the space and time to do some of the more advanced mechanics I had been practicing

Man such a great video and you are a great creator man keep it up! I’ll be tuned in from here on out just from this one video. The fact that this doesn’t have 100k plus views already is crazy.

Wow. So much information. Cheers Griff
omg the amount of tm8s i get in d2-3 that get full control of the ball with space and just slam it over the field right to the opponent.. blegh. sometimes when i take full control of the ball to set up a play or pass, my tm8 gets impatient and hits it off my car away from me... ofc.. right to the opponent.. like.. this is why i abandon games 😆
Man this channel's so good
It is astounding how well you can destill abstract stuff into tangible rules better than anyone I ever seen on KZread, awesome video, hope you get the appropriate view, ie viral if I could decide. 🙂

The last advice is the best advice for a multitude of situations and applies to so many humans. If followed it can even help the planet and the environment 😂
there's a video on air roll called A Rocket League Thesis : The Losfeld Method of Directional Air-Roll, it goes in depth about air rolling with a weird method I'd love for you to review it tbh and give your thoughts on it

When I have 2 hours to spare, I'll try and give it a shot lol.
I enjoyed this one Grif. Maybe you can do one on the unmentioned mechanics displayed in the plethora of “road to ssl” series out there. An example would be the simple explanation of when and why they switch ball cam on/off. Nearly every content creator doing these types of videos subconsciously switches ball cam on and off assuming the viewer 1. Understands it’s happening 2. Why it’s happening and 3. What influences the switch. Watch Flakes (or anyone else) explain how simple power slide cuts are the whole while demonstrating they switch camera views and never mention why it’s important or even acknowledge they did it.

In the low ranks people only do it to line up with boost or check where other players are but (me and) higher level players also do it when the ball goes high over their head as they are liable to demos in that position. Also nobody dribbles with ball cam on and every other ball cam. car cam switch comes down to preference. When i watch AppJack I notice he sometimes turns ball cam off for aerials and sometimes even in the middle of an air dribble
Great video man 👌🏻

Amazing video but I’m not sure breaking is fundamental mechanic. Now braking, that might be 😜
I play ranked and most people are usually more mechanical than me. I feel like I don't belong in my rank but I can't go down lol.

I’m serious. It’s between you and kevpert for the GOAT of KZread tutorials.
I want to show this video with my dad I'm playing with (~plat 1-2) but I'm already know he will be afraid by the huge amount of impressive moves we see in the video which are actually not related to the subject at all. So I'd suggest to not make fancy moves when talking about fondamentals, especially in the part where you show what to do in free play. Still, I want to show this video with people because those are great advices with good exemples, how to practice it etc.

I totally get that sentiment and to that point, I try and include things that apply to what I'm saying as often as possible. In regards to "fancy" things when giving examples, that's my attempt at showing the "best case scenario" of what's possible or rather, what people could do if they learned these other things. I see a LOT of comments on videos of pros who complain that they get instant challenged any time they go up for an air dribble. In reality, if they would learn other means of control, they would understand how that space and time isn't given but earned.
@edgeribble

@@Grifflicious they probably get insta challenged because they only go for air dribbles and it’s readable. If u have other attacks in ur arsenal then u will naturally have more space to air dribble
@Grifflicious

@@edgeribble Honestly, I think it has more to do with the fact that people in the mid-ranks only go for air dribbles when the ball is already going up the wall by chance. And since they didn't set it up themselves, it's a free ball that they go for while also being challenged for that possession. Rather, learning how to take possession and create your setups greatly reduces that insta-challenge percentage.

@@Grifflicious in my games (plat 3) all the air dribblers set up their shots but they are always on 30 boost or less and leave me in a 1v2. I can't air dribble yet but i think i'll learn it in diamond. Rn i'm focusing on my ground game
