I'm a man and the amount of hatred this movie is getting is equivalent to the the praise she got in animal for "being a second women" or bhabhi two". @@jazzed5039 i dont know whether you are living under a rock or not, but animal movie and ranvijay character's toxic masculinity and even the filmmaker received carping criticism over a prolonged period compared to this movie which has hardly received even one tenth of the criticism than animal received. Promiscuity, extra marital affairs are being glorified in Bollywood and it is even more galling to find people normalizing it. Women's morality is questioned more as it is they who make a big deal over whether they are being "slut shamed" or not. Promiscuous men on the other hand don't seem as bothered about the labels stuck on them.

Movies like kabir singh and animal have been sharply criticised and rightly so. But reviews of movies like Bad Newz mention that thankfully the woman has not been slut shamed when she is clearly sleeping around. Plenty of impressionable young women watch such movies and think that they too can two time & get to choose the best father for their child only to find how dangerous & disempowering irresponsible choices can be for women's body and emotions. Men face only financial ruin for promiscuity but women pay a far greater price of irresponsibility due to difference in biology. A pity that so many young women throw caution to winds these days in the name of modernity & confusing equality with identicalness.

and heroines then complain once older that they were objectified. She wants to do such roles, so she gets them. I refuse to believe that heroines do not have leverage these days on the roles written for them. They accept storylines and roles in which they can be shown sleeping around and show ample amount of skin show. Any older character in such films not shown accepting of libertine life will immediately be demonised as patriarchal. And in the feminist universe "slut shaming" is a big crime. A woman can never make the wrong choices & even if it feels she has made one, don't hold her accountable but accept it as a "human flaw". Paradoxically, only toxic male promiscous characters will be pilloried by feminists. So don't feel bad. This is the 'standard' women are setting for "female liberation". Let's not wonder any more why despite libertine portrayals of female characters onscreen, why people irl are becoming more and more mistrustful of women.
