People seriously buy SUVs and just drive them alone to the store .... It makes no sense but welcome to the new market
@rugby86

The SUV hype is just pathetic, in my opinion. Living in the U.K we also get our market overloaded with SUVs. It used to be Estate (station wagon for you guys across the pond). Saloon (sedan) cars are still very in demand, but SUVs just look so meh and pointless, not going into prices of them lol.
@manicoasis4200

They all look too similar, provide no extra space over a sedan, provide a worse ride experience, and are never used to go off road. Why does everyone want one? I also dislike automatics so I may be in the minority here. Sedans and especially Coupes are my favored design choices, as I do get groceries on my own.

Very sad to see this beautiful car go. Something about the confident stance has always reminded me of the elegant, purposeful-looking BMWs of the early 2000s.
My mom had a red, 2003 Volvo V70 with tan interior and man seeing the interior of that S60 takes me back because of how similar it is. She drove that thing for 20 years and just traded it in last year for a XC40, which just doesn't have the same character or personality
SUV market is in high demand. I’m tired of these sedans and coupes being discontinued with the current market buyers wanting a suv and not a traditional car like a sedan/coupe. Bring back the wagons please. I want to throw up every time I see a suv 🚙 everywhere.

I live in Japan and rarely see the sedans. I LOVE Volvo design but honestly always find the sedans to be quite pedestrian. The estates are gorgeous and the XC90 is so stately. No surprise they are cancelling in the USA.
Those wheels are the Polestar wheels, exclusive to the Polestar S60
It will probably only come a an electric car here since it was technically do for a refresh and sales were low. It probably didn't make sense to keep around as the capacity would be better served by products with a higher price point. I do hope it comes back though
I really like those Pontiac sketches. The cleaning lines of this Volvo makes it a favourite one.

I absolutely love my S60 MY22, it's the last before the facelift and new trim levels, so it still has the visible dual exhaust which makes it look even better than the facelift in my opinion. One of the most beautiful sedan ever made, every detail goes seamlessly together, it's a pleasure to look at it every time I need to drive somewhere.
Fun fact: The old one did not sold well in Chinese-speaking region compare to other places because the cool taillights looks like traditional-style casket.
I hate car companies and buyers nowadays. We in Australia have already gone through this with the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore (check those out!), and it's just tragic that companies have no faith in cars with artistic and mechanical integrity. Except for Toyota/Lexus, they're all right.
Absolutely love the Volvo’s designs, hoping to get either an S60R or a C30. Pretty much whichever I can find in manual first. I’d love to see you make a video on the C30

I was at World of Volvo in Sweden this past week. Volvo design are so so beautiful, elegant while still mantaining sportiness. I saw a few mint new S60 and I was a happy person! So stunning!
Always wanted one of the S60's, used ones here in the UK are for sale at bargain prices, very tempted but got to convince the wife 😄
You can buy the s60 R manual, I love this car although my uncle had a couple D4 in black
Happily the Polestar 2 is even more beautiful. I have no clue if it’s available in the USA though. One thing I don’t like in the S60 is the triangular window in the rear door, in my world the bottom line of it should not kick up, but just follow the shoulder line. Greetings from Denmark
Had a 2007 s40t5 and that thing was sick. love that 5 cylinder power
Volvo is one of the few companys which ALL models looks just spot on. Beautiful design, and yes i agree the S60 is the best looking Sedan. Too bad its going away ☹️
So what it looked good. It's like a kitchen appliance to interact with and you can barely see out of the windshield. Nothing to hear, smell or touch to make you feel delighted as a user.
Its sad. On Volvo's website locally here, there are only a few hybrid and electric SUVs. They stopped selling the V40 here years ago, which I don't understand, because it was as good as any other hatchback, and very competitively priced.
Saloon age is dead. Started way back, peaked in the 90s and 00s and now dying/dead. Will keep mine on the road if I can
Only excuse to buy a crossover suv is if you’re actually doing some off-roading (most on the market aren’t even built with this in mind anymore) or if you’re mobility is limited and you need something very easy to get in and out of. I simply don’t understand the obsession with the egg cars.
I got a 2005 model year S60R It's so awesome man :D
My daily driver is a 2001 s60 T5 that I purchased used in August 2004. Just hit 451000kms(280000 miles). Original engine, transmission and turbo. The first generation P2 platform Volvo cars are the most under rated vehicles ever produced!
Agree!!! The best design. I own one. 2021 and LOVE IT! Insane. Ridiculous. I see so many on the streets in the San Diego area, yet it's discontinued... Stupid
Literally just talked to a dealer about picking up a 2021 S60 Recharge they’re trying to get rid of. Now I’m not sure I want it if parts are going to be hard to come by…
Can you review Lexus IS300h between 2013-2017 models? I love that car and its design.
I totally agree, I've always had sedans (a Lexus GS450 (300 hp) at the moment, comparable to a 5-ceries, A6 or Merc-E, though not in reliability when I read and hear about all the problems people have with performance BMW, Audi's and even Mercs). But they're also getting more and more sparse here in the Netherlands (and yes everybody is replacing them with - usually cross-over - SUV's, even Lexus has dumped de IS- and GS-models (the "3- and 5-series") and replaced it with the ES, and quite a few new SUV-models are going in. About 15 years ago an older man lived right across the street from me and he was driving a beautiful Saab 9-5 (sedan) Aero, the fastest and most luxurious version and he looked so proud in it. Then one day I saw him getting into a ...X3 (not even the 6-cylinder) and when I met him on the street I said I was sorry to see that the beautiful Saab had disappeared. He said he actually felt the same but his wife said it was time to buy another car (as Saab had gone bankrupt, so the wise thing is to immediately sell your Saab, no matter how nice or in what condition it is) and he should buy a car with a higher seat, because it's easier to get in and out. He never had that proud look behind the wheel (maybe I'm biased, but other people who were not as "car keen" as I felt the same.

Before I watch this video, wow, thanks for finally making a video on this masterpiece. I own a 2019 S60. Sad to see it go..
The Volvo XC90 and S90 / V90 are one of the best looking cars on the (European) market. Unfortunately the S- and V90 Platform is front wheel drive and no rear wheel like a proper luxury sedan / estate like BMW or Merceders, and there are no 6 cylinder (diesel) engines anymore. Big mistake in the dashboard is to have the display vertical oriented instead of horizontal because as you drive your visual sight is mainly based on horizontal focusing. It also makes the interior look narrower. Small changes can make them a player in the executive market as they have a more accepted name than the azian brands trying to compete here. But Volvo wants to switch to electrical only so they are out of that segment anyway.

S60 reminds me of the Acura TLX in the front.
The 2019 and above s60 is one of the sexiest sedans made. However it does have an interesting flaw which it has had from the previous modell years. When it rains and you open the trunk. Some of the collected water on top will drip down into the cargo compartment on the sides because the rubber seals and metal chassi bends downward, letting water sip down from the back window into the cargo area. Interesting miss and flaw imo.
That's sad. It's a really beautiful car!!!
I always have loved Volvo because I grew up for 9 years with a Volvo s60 d5 it was the first car I remember I sat and got driven in it was a lovely car. Sad to see these cars slowly disappearing iff you want a family hauler buy a station not all these suv’s. Going to miss the s60 and s90.
Wow... Did Volvo use red indicators/blinker/flasher in the US? :o Not the same part as the brake light i hope?
Volvo were going to stop selling station wagons in England, but such a fuss was made that they relented. Not everyone wants a SUV. But the article in The Times celebrating this climbdown showed photos of the classic 245, so I thought they were bringing it back just for us Brits. No such luck. It might have been a brick but it was my brick

I love these cars, but I'm not sure if I'd let my '02 S40 2.0 go. I was hoping that EVs will make SUVs less popular as SUV’s poor aerodynamics (tall roof and big ground clearance) requires bigger batteries which add cost and weight (weight makes car perform worse). Intially this seemed to happen with Tesla S/3 and Polestar 1/2 and similar. But then Tesla Y was released and it outsold every other car. People quickly ditched sedans when a SUV/crossover with aggressive pricing was available.
Don’t worry that the s60 is gone. BMW just released it as the current 5 series
I got a cross over SUV because it's much more convenient for family and all the trash that comes when traveling with them.
The Swedish non-SUV cars are indeed so great, sedan and estate.
IDK if I'm that sad, pretty much anything majority owned by Geely has gone down in Quality over the last years

You come from Sweden? Smh. At least you include the rest of Scandinavia I really love the V70, but I am absolutely biased because it's the only car we've had before our current, and we had it for 12 years after having another v70
*A beautiful car, yes. Except for its taillights. They're not hideous, but... bizarre. That's the only part of the vehicle I'm not a huge fan of.*
The Volvo V90 is the most beautifully proportioned wagon ever, IMO. I don't know how they've managed to make a wagon look that good!
I really dont get what people see on a suv... Ok, if you have babies the baby seats are easier to put in and out but appart from that, there isn't much.
Is it me or do I see a fast back roofline like the original CLS 2000s s60.
Isn't Volvo s Geely now?
I hate that in Sweden Volvo has removed the Cross country and mildhybrids models but its in sweden where the cross country models sell the best and now in Sweden you can only build your own car as an EV or plug in hybrid no normal petoles anymore in Sweden only for dealerships and retail.

Where is this?
For 34 years and 625,000 kilometers we had the ultimate Volvo, a 1990 240DL Estate 2.3 litre. The new ones are a joke in comparison. Even the V90 down on cargo room by a significant amount. They do not handle properly, either, because the weight distribution is all messed up. That the company is now owned by The People's Republic of China is one more reason not to buy one.
I don't want an SUV but it seems that quickly I'll have no choice but to get one. I hate the US market for cars so much. Especially with how everyone in the household needs a car in most places, most households need one big SUV/truck and everyone else can live perfectly fine with something like a Peugeot 208 but because these cars don't exist at all here, everyone has to have at l;east a compact SUV that isn't even spacious.
