Film Brain continues his Happy Madison Month by wandering into a comedic wilderness that even certain substances won’t be able to make you laugh at - not that he’s speaking from experience, mind… Season 5.

This episode was originally posted in July 2013, and was the second episode of Happy Madison Month. This new version runs a whopping 3m 10s shorter than it's original version, and much of that is because this has been extensively re-edited: I still had all the source files for this review, so I re-cut it directly from the source, and the changes here are extensive: - *New* voiceover for the entire review. This was the major reason for the re-edit. This was again part of my "angry" phase, and I was way overdoing it at this point, and it shows how much it was dragging out the episodes, because these new versions of the same lines shortened review considerably. - Alternate takes throughout of on-camera footage. This was done to bring them more in-line with the new narration, and bring them more into my normal speaking range and tone it down. - Now in HD! The DailyMotion re-post was also in HD, but the very first Blip post was 360p - Film source remastered: because I was remastering the video in HD, I re-encoded the DVD footage to a higher quality anamorphic version. Unfortunately, this threw the edits out because the older version must have dropped frames, so I had to totally re-edit the entire review. So there you have it, an old review but almost completely re-done from practically scratch. Obviously I'm not going to go to these lengths for every episode, but I didn't want to put it back up the way it was. This review has never looked and sounded better, so I hope you enjoy!

I actually liked your angry phase particularly because you were doing it on movies that really deserved it, but I understand why others didn't and it was putting strain on your voice. This is still one of my favorite reviews that you've ever done. I loved your jokes and lines. This is the year when I really started enjoying Bad Movie Beatdown.

Matthew, me and many of your fans really appreciate that you re-upload these old BMB episodes. It's also delightful to see that you improve and make significant changes for the audience's convenience, it shows that you're always willing to strive for quality work and by doing so, you make these terrible, terrible movies palletabe for the lucky souls who didn't watch them. My deepest respects for you and your lost nerves back then in Happy Madison month, it mustn't have been easy. Kind regards from Germany!

As a long time fan you should cut yourself a little more slack. I know how difficult/cringy it is to watch old videos of yourself (especially after you've increased your professionalism). You're pretty harsh on yourself, and I find it unnecessary. While your older work is less refined than you are now it still holds up in the comedy and critical departments. I really love what you do and want you to be as proud and impressed with it as I am. :D

If it weren't for Adam Sandler, I'm sure Fred Wolf would have been blacklisted, because he is a terrible writer. One of the many reasons I hate Hollywood and the entertainment industry.

Freddy got fingered is actually a really good movie, you just have to watch it with the right mindset - it isn't Tom Green doing his usual routine - it's him doing it while also giving a giant middle finger to the company that paid him to make a movie in the first place. Watch it with that in mind - you'll see all the obvious in-jokes about how somebody just gave him 1,000,000 $, and it's gone pretty much instantly with nothing to show for it. also, the middle finger thing is literal - watch the opening scene in the restaurant , a guy there has an arm cast that is making him literally flip the bird to the audience.

I guess I'm in the minority for this movie because I fucking loved it, I thought it was hilarious and I was laughing the whole time. Sure the movie has some dumb and immature parts and it isn't going to be cracking any top 100 films lists, but as a straight up stoner comedy it fucking delivers the laughs. Grandma's boy was always one of my favorite dumb comedy movies so I got excited when Strange Wilderness was released. I got super stoned and went and rented it from Blockbuster, which was still popular and was like my favorite place to go on Friday to rent all the new movies and games for the weekend. So I smoked a fat ass blunt and popped Strange Wilderness in, and by the end of the movie my stomach and cheeks were so fucking sore from laughing, and I ended up watching it like 2 or 3 more times that weekend. I know it's not a great movie, but it wasn't made to make people think or to deliver some kind of message, it was made to make people laugh their ass off, and in that regard it fucking delivered. Justin Long killed it in that movie, he was so fucking funny, and so was Steve Zahn. Like I said, it's not some epic or great movie, and it has its flaws (a lot of them) and can be really stupid at points, but if you smoke some weed and put it on you are bound to laugh your ass off a couple of times throughout it.

Strange Wilderness is one of those movies you rent from the video store one night, you laugh your ass off, return it, and then instantly forget and never think about again. My family and I died laughing at the shark laugh scene, rewinding it multiple times, but as you said, Mathew, it's the only good thing anyone remembers from it. When judged as a real movie, yeah, Strange Wilderness is of course terrible. Par for the course for most Happy Madison films, sadly, although I'd still watch this over Bucky Larson, Jack and Jill, or God help you, The Wrong Missy.

There was 4 during the month in 2013: I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, this, Just Go With It, and Jack & Jill. I just haven't reposted the others yet. (This was redone because it vaguely ties into War for the Planet of the Apes, also with Steve Zahn.)

I know its stupid, but I laughed my ass off when they killed bigfoot and tryed to make it look like a suicide. Guilty pleasure I guess. Its the only time I laughed at this movie, but it did make me laugh.

I think this was meant to be a parody of Amazon cannibal movies like Cannibal Holocaust, but it misses the mark widely. Also, it's pretty obvious that Bigfoot's cave is Bronson Canyon, where hundreds of low-budget movies have been shot. I imagine that was a deliberate in-joke.

This actually shows why Master of Disguise, as shit as that was, was a better film. Having only seen the NC review there is an interview scene in that movie very similar to this one, and while not very funny it is actually TRYING to be funny and intended to make people laugh.

Honestly bro, I love this movie. I think it was meant to be an intentional "we don't give a fuck" comedy where the actors are there to just act goofy and do/say random shit(Like "Wet Hot American Summer"-however I really don't like that movie and really confused why it has such a big following). While I agree with you on every issue you have with this, like lack of continuity, was sort of the point. And I thought Jonah Hill was hysterical in this. "They're gonna think I'm some sort of PREHISTORIC GENTLEMAN BIRD". I died at that line. The fact that they end with a blooper is sort of hysterically genius to me, and most of the clips you show are funny to me(except the mexican voice/the turkey deep throat scene). I'm truly sorry, maybe I'm a moron.

You're not a moron. Comedy is subjective, so we all find different things funny. However, comedy is also an art form that's judged based on how much effort is displayed. Remember: People are meant to *pay money* to see this, so you shouldn't defend its laziness.
