So many great songs. They could crank out the two and a half minute peppy pop song like this, throw in a little psychedelic sound as in “Run Through The Jungle” (with a cool stereo effect st the opening of this, which Alex should love and its my personal favorite. Used to great effect in “The Big Lebowski”), or do swamp music, like “Born on the Bayou,” “Susie-Q” (be sure to listen to the full version), and their completely unique version of “I Heard It Through The Grapevine.” Or as John Fogerty sings it, “I hoid it through the grapevine”. Always enjoy watching you guys listening to these classics and love to see what Alex focuses on and points out. Always something I’ve missed in the sound, the production, etc. He’s got a great ear!
This song fit the movie An American Werewolf in London perfectly.

The album cut of Suzie Q is a must for anyone interested in CCR it is a much longer song and the guitar playing on it is outstanding.
CCR was such a great band. You could pick any random song from any of their albums and it would be good to great. Heard it Through the Grapevine or Born on the Bayou have a somewhat different sound from the ones you've heard. You can't go wrong with any of the other recommendations.

CCR - "I Put a Spell on You". You will not be disappointed.
UP AROUND THE BEND
Grapevine is one of their best and really highlights the drumming, just an amazing outro jam on that one.
Did you two do CCR's "Suzy Q"? It has an amazing groove. It is one part a tremelo lead guitar thing jam bands would see as "history"...lol. Secondly, it is as swampy as fried gator on a stick.

I can remember a cover of _The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down_ that my parents had (on 8-track casette!) when I was a little kid. Heard it often; loved it well. We probably used to sing along with it. That's how Mom kept us out of mischief on the 6 hour journey to the coast - "let's all sing ... X" ...

Burchell came as my name, and I rode on the battle train, Till "so much" cavalry came; tore up the tracks again (==probably some general's name there ..) ... It was the Winter of '65, We were hungry - Just barely alive, I took a train to Richmond ..something It was a time I remember, Oh so well, It was the night, they drove old Dixie down (and all the bells were ringing) It was the night they drove old Dixie down (and all the people were singing, they went "Laaaa lala lala laaa lala lala lala lalalalaaa ..." ... I absolutely love Bad Moon Rising, one of my CCR favorites, an awesome banging rhythm it just make me feel good, besides, if you're a musician no matter an amateur or an expert is definetely quite a fun song to play.
This was used briefly in the 1982 movie "An American Werewolf in London." CCR had some great songs. Their version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" is great! John Fogerty was CCR.
Born on the Bayou is a banger💝🎵

The love you have for music is so evident throughout all of your videos. Keep up the great work. Signed, a 50 yr old lady!
CCR are very commercial with lyrics that are mostly social commentary on the times in which they were written. They spoke to the young people of the era and we still listen to them today because of that timeless vibe the music produces. Have a happy Thanksgiving, guys!
Their biggest "swamp rock" banger is "Born on the Bayou". You can't do CCR reactions without doing that killer track
Awesome !! Now do "Born on the Bayou" and "I Put a Spell on You"... thanks for sharing !!
This is my favorite Creedence song to sing along with. Makes you feel good...

Another CCR song! Yes! Funny story. Back in the late 70s,early 80s, there were commercials constantly running to buy albums. I noticed my husband standing in the living room floor glued to the t.v. CCR album advert was on. He had a big smile on his face. He looked over at me and said "Can we get it?" I said "Heck yeah!" The day it arrived, he came running in the house like a kid in a candy store. We did shots of Jack and danced all night. Our face was Midnight Special. (I've mentioned this before) CCR were marketing geniuses. Their songs catered to every genre you can think of.

I saw them play at a Frat Party at San Jose State college...WAY beck when ...they were then known as the Goliwogs. They had a small hit..."Brown Eyed Girl" They were a local band here in the San Fran Bay Area. They became huge when the name was changed to CCR. Memories....

Love the vibe of the channel keep rocking reactions
Bad moon rising is one of my favorites from CCR. It was one of the most popular in its day. The idea wasn’t that it was ‘jolly’, but more frantic or worried. The music reflects that emotion.
It is so fun to see you guys grooving on this music (yes, 'grooving.' It means to dig, to get down on and be hip to.) I hope you are young enough for this to be hard-wired in your brains.

Hey guys, I just stumbled onto your channel a few days ago with your "Locomotive Breath" reaction (awesome) and have been running through your back catalog, dropping useless comments for the algorithm and just because. This is the first one in a position for you to actually read, so I just wanted to say hi and how much fun it is watching a couple young dudes listening to the music that I was into when it and I were both young and getting into it like I did. This here song is actually my parents' generation (Fogerty was born about a year after my mom, and in the same San Francisco Bay Area - he grew up "on the bayou" of El Cerrito in the East Bay!) so it was already "classic rock" when I heard it on the radio, but I loved it then & now as well. Anyhoo, keep on rockin'!

And a note about the short sweet old songs. In the 60s, a lot of radio stations wouldn't play songs longer than 3 minutes.
Born on the Bayou is CCRs signature ‘swamp rock’ song. John Fogerty (vocals, guitar, songwriting) still opens every show with it. Outstanding track.
