I second your praise! I do have to say, though, History Channel never even came close in its heyday :)
I would love to know how neo confucianism was able to influence Japan without an educated scholar literati class that had to pass state exams like in Korea and China.

Didn't like the lecture. Expceted more focus on religion. Buddist sects, Christians, Confucianism etc...
