Not in the slightest if you know the basics of how guns work 1 needs a round in the chamber 2 needs the trigger to be pulled 3 needs ylyou to be standing over the muzzle to even hit you if the first 2 are met Guns aren't magical if the gun doesn't malfunction it requires you to make it go bang kick starting isn't a comfortable thing to do but it's still a think that may need to be done just like mortaring

It's just totally unneccesary unless your rifle is genuinely stuck and you've tried opening it the way I've shown a couple times and it still won't open. After that, you should disassemble the rifle and diagnose what exactly is going on because that is really a catastrophic failure of some component. That guy acted like it was business as usual to have to stomp on your op rod handle lol. Usually a few hard raps on a wooden table or on the dirt will get the bolt open.

Posting this because some people think this video is pointless or pedantic. The point of this video is that we should escalate the level of force we use to unjam a gun and, unfortunately, lightly sticking up the gun by using the incorrect manual of arms does not give you the greenlight to kickstart the operating rod like you're James Dean. Just like with a stuck fastener we don't cut to the torch or the drill immediately after our first attempt at it with a shitty crescent wrench fails. Kickstarting the oprod handle has a place, but it's really a "remedial action" technique more than anything.

I love the sound of M1 Garand. Always reminds me of Band of Brothers 😊😊
