If you’re wondering what happened, Tanjiro fought this huge spider demon that was a literally spider with an alien face that he took down and won the battle with Nezuko’s help.
They were both about to move before Giyuu found them and asked if they were okay. Tanjiro said they were fine but before he could say anything else, they heard a rustling come from the bushes near them.
What popped out of the bushes after the rustling was a teddy bear, Tanjiro was confused about how a stuffed bear was in the middle of nowhere until he smelled a demon getting closer but it smelled different.
But nonetheless, he was still ready to fight, so he grabbed his broken sword, reached his hand in the bushes, and prepared himself to kill the demon until he was surprised of what he saw.
What he grabbed out of the bushes was a small child(Rui) who was all white and had red dots all over his face. They were all surprised; like it was a demon, but it was also just a kid.
After Tanjiro snapped out of it, he raised his sword again thinking that if he doesn’t behead the demon quick it will turn into a monster but instead of the demon child attacking, it grabbed their bear and starting crying while screaming for help.
They were all especially surprised by this including Tanjiro who heart broke when the kid saw him as some kind of monster. He knew he was a demon slayer, and he’s job was to slay demons, then why didn’t it feel right to hurt him.
So Tanjiro put down his sword, let go of him, and told the demon child that he won’t hurt him while asking if they could talk.
All the kid did was scoot back because he didn’t trust Tanjiro or the people with him one bit. Before Giyuu can say anything, something or someone(Enmu) went past them very fast, grabbed the kid, and when they heard the strum of a biwa, the imposter and the demon child was gone in a instant.
The trio who was left there didn’t know what just happened, while Tanjiro was having an existential crisis about how can demons even be children.
But before any one of them could process the situation they got themselves into, Giyuu felt Shinbou coming and blocked her before she could hurt Nezuko or Tanjiro.
Then it goes along the same with Nezuko running away so her head won’t get cut off all the waty to the Hashiras meeting up for Nezuko’s trial.
After Nezuko refused to take Sanemi’s blood, Kagaya announced that Nezuko will not hurt humans and that it’s great that Giyuu saved Tanjiro from a small spider demon.
But there was something wrong about what Kagaya just said, because how did he know about the demon child? None of the other Hashiras knew about this because the only people that was there was Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Giyuu.
So who told Kagaya about the demon if it wasn’t the Hashiras?
