Have you ever hired a RoundAbout Car in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company claims they have cars and when you sign up with them and pay for the car, they then advise you that you will collect your car from Avis. When i got to Avis, they hadn't booked the car and Avis seemed not to be aware of the arrangement, so i had to spend another hour booking a car with Avis afresh. thereby missing the meetings I was supposed to attend. I had requested cross border documents to Botswana and nothing was available, so they had to email me the documents while i travel and asked me to print copied on my way to Botswana.!! how does one do this?
Avis had to find me a car which during inspection i showed the attend defects or damaged, but out of desperation, i took it , fearing further details since i had already missed my first meeting. The cross border documents were eventually emailed to me mid-day when I was already tired of waiting for them in Rustenburg, meaning i missed all the meetings i was suppose to attend that day. When i eventually returned the car, i received no apology from RoundAbout cars, or an explanation. Avis charged me for the damage that you can see from the video which i was showing the attendant. They said you damaged the wheel, but 9 seconds in the video you can see me talking to the attendant and she is also pointing to the damaged wheel. But despite all the documentation, Avis charged me for the damaged wheel and other costs which i had already paid RoundAbout cars.
If you ever going to South Africa, try not to use RoundAbout Cars, they will sign you up but they will never make a car available for you. you will spend you own money trying to call them. They told me lied to me about where i can travel with the car only to be told otherwise at Avis. If you are getting an Avis car, get a video of everything including the wheel, the rims, everything, etc. They will accuse you of damaging the car even when you told them at the beginning. Be warned!!
