6:18 the merge was technically on the side of old mate in the tray back ute, it was a marked merge but he did push his way into the inside lane on the roundabout like a rude pushy UCV driver and the bloke behind the UCV driver left heaps of room for the cam car to merge....swings and roundabouts but the UCV driver was rude and pushy.

Yeah I was thinking the same, also that's a dumb setup main roads has done there since traffic builds up. The smart thing would be making it a merge not a lane end.

Exactly! I suspect the laws are different in Qld, as everyone thinks that if you are a metre ahead, you can force your way onto the single lane. Of course, that's the best traffic management option - if you are ahead at the end of the lane divider lines, you go first. However, Qld has the completely stupid "give way" rule if you are in the left merging lane with the dotted merge point.

I too had one, in the 80's for several months... and the same one again in the 90's, for several weeks. Yes, it was worse the second time around! 🤣🤣 I sorted the overheating by removing the thermostat, fitting a slightly larger radiator & an electric water pump. On hot days, it still drank like a fish.

@0:29: and here's why we don't put light coloured objects on the dash. They obscure vision and can easily lead to dangerous events. Most dashboards are a dark colour so they don't make spurious distracting obscuring reflections onto the windscreen.

6:06 ok, rules is that DC driver has to give way, however the ute driver illegally changed into that lane in the roundabout, cutting off cars. He may had right away but DC cammer would of slowed down giving way to the car in front so they can merge behind. Most times, people use common sense at situations like this and just let people in... Its the people who forceably try to push in at the last minute that get pushed out. DC wasn't pushing in but waiting patiently. Only became forceful cause the ute driver was being quite rude. They need to change the rules of those mergers cause they are a death trap. There is one of the on ramp on Sydney Rd (Hume Hwy), it 100km. Its a death trap! Ive seen them jump on their brakes, hold up traffic whilst wanting to merge into 1 lane that is in 100km! The rule should be "at your own discretion"... Just commen sense!

Why would you submit a video when you are in the wrong. when you are changing lanes you have to find a way in they don't have to make room for you On roads where there are lanes marked on the road-if your lane comes to an end, you must give way to traffic already in the lane you are moving to.

Hi Jim. No, that's incorrect. side note a roundabout has different laws to an intersection, so sitting roundabouts a side And just using the 4 way Intersection example who has to give way? Will depend on what direction there coming, whether they're turning left or right and going straight. Has nothing to do with who is at gateway sign. and in many caes you must give way to thsoe approching , even if you are at the inetrsection , If you have a more specific question or reference to something in this video I can clarify.

Some people think you should give way to vehicles approaching from the right on a roundabout. But, that's not the rule. You must give way to any vehicles already on the roundabout before you enter. So if a car already on a roundabout just happens to be on your right, you must give way to it @@ScottsCarcameras

Hi Jim, yes what you’ve written about roundabouts is correct. And yes many people do think you give way to approaching traffic which you don’t and that’s a pet hate of mine however I stated in my reply, roundabouts and intersections have different laws so see my reply to your other comment, as you have a correct roundabout, but incorrect for intersections. :)

Hi Jim again I’m not sure what you’re trying to say with this as that’s incorrect nowhere in any laws are written if somebody is already at a giveaway sign that you have to give way to them, that that’s not how the rules work the rules will work on any given Setup you’ll have to give way to certain drivers depending where which direction they are going and which direction direction you were going. For example, if you were going straight through it to intersection you will have to give the traffic that is approaching from the left or right even if your at the give way sign , if you were turning right at an intersection, you will have to give way to traffic that is coming straight at you regardless of whether you’re at the give way sign , Make sense now :)

As it is a merge right lane the DC is definitely meant to give way to traffic in the right lane. For once the Ute was in the wrong but it would likely to be the only time for the Ute.

If it was one simple rule in Qld, if you are 1 metre in front at the end of the normal dividing lines, then you get "right of way". Noooo - we have the stupid system of "give way to the right" here. It needs to be changed!

Ute driver also in the wrong, you're not allowed to change lanes in an intersection. Also trying to cut the van driver off. If they'd stayed behind the DC driver, it would not have been an issue. Except Princess would have been further back.

Hi Jules FYI to correct a point , you are allowed to change lanes in an intersection , however that was a roundabout which has different rule , but you are also allowed to change lane in a roundabout , :)

I apologize for them all. I drive a Toyota Tundra and don't drive like they do...they are an embarrassment to all of us who don't drive like asses. I know it's not something that happens when they are south of the equator, because some of them here in the USA drive like prats as well. Here the German cars seem to be driven by the biggest twats.
