I unplugged my left hand mirror because it was constantly whirring. It seems there is an electrical fault which no-one (including the RAC) seems to be able to fix. So, I fixed the mirror in place.

Speaks volumes about a driver who fails to notice folded wing mirrors. Like ones that never use the rear screen wash/wipe or don't clear ice and snow off the back screen (perhaps some of you might have encountered that in Oz).

My Colorado was due for a trade in & in a moment of mental deficiency I talked to my local Ford dealership about getting a Ranger. The salesman told me he'd look after me, which must be code for "we'll do our best to shit all over you". I didn't go through with the purchase though because he offered me $9,000 (Holden dealership gave me $15,000 for my trade in) to then tell me that I wouldn't get my Ranger for 10 months.This was before Covid hit too.Holden had me on the road within 2 weeks & their workshop swapped my canopy over for me & all. I've done 200,000 ks in my Colorado now & it's going to be good for another 150,000-200,000 I reckon. I'll probably opt for a Isuzu Dmax next time

12:40 not sure where this was taken but the obligation to keep left in Qld is 90 and over but in NSW and some other states it's 80. Why is this law not uniform Australia wide?

Hi the law is Uniform in all of Australia its not 80 in any states that's a myth its OVER 80kmh in all states , QLD is the only place that has it different with is 90 or more , so tell your premier to change it back to uniform it with the rest of Australia :)

@@ScottsCarcameras SA also has the rule stating: On a road marked with two or more lanes for traffic travelling in the same direction, if the speed limit is greater than 80 km/h or on any road that has a 'Keep Left Unless Overtaking' sign, you must not drive in the right lane except: when overtaking another vehicle when turning or about to turn to the right and you are giving a right change of direction signal when avoiding an obstruction when the other lanes are congested. You must keep to the left of these lines (Examples 1 and 2). You may cross them to overtake, or enter or leave the road, or to perform a U-turn where permitted, but you must only do so if it is safe. So Queensland is not the only State chief.

They forget not just to put it in gear or park, but the handbrake as well. I have a friend who for some reason doesn't use the park brake, just puts the trans in park. We live in Melbourne - the park brake freezing in sub zero winters isn't a concern.

@@pauljh74 Plus on some cars the use of the handbrake sets the clearance of the pad and rotor of the rear disc brakes....... and on some rear drum brake vehicles, using the handbrake to stop when backing can unstick the self adjusting mechanism.....and it's worth doing jut to get the feel of it if it's needed in an emergency. None of this applies to an e brake RTFM.

Had 2 trucks doing 100 in the middle and right lanes the other week on a 110 section. I ended up passing them in the left lane, which is actually allowed under the road rules.

@@ScottsCarcameras Correct thats what the sign says, like on the RH lane in the vid says Right lane must turn right, the signs are required so you dont turn left from the right lane and vice versa.. April 1 I would love to see that someone had swapped the 2 signs... I wonder if anyone would notice

When you come across right hand hogs I find the best treatment is to get in front of them then really slow down so they get pissed and change lanes, then speed back up again

Hi Luiz no that's incorrect , i think you are confused on how the keep left rule actually works , the Dc driver was overtaking the vehicle in the left and obeying the rule , the other driver was the one that broke the law on give way and safe space :)

If there is no a long enough amount of video to tell that or make a conclusion then why did you conclude based on it "clearly not keeping left while not overtaking therefore blocking the traffic " ? how can it be "clear " if you need clarification ! why is it base don teh footage you con deem teh Dc driver , when i point out they didnt break teh rules you conclude they must have off camera, why cant the other driver juts be the only problem ? BTW i thought i would wait to see your reply before i told you that actually the Keep left rule doesn't apply here any way the speed limit here is 80kmh so there is no keep left requirement yet you assumed and concluded again :(

Likewise, we don't have Australian style tradie trucks and utes, but we do have pickup truck drivers with, shall we say, an *interesting* comprehension of the Highway Code. But we have in common the propensity of drivers of certain cars to behave as if they're exempt from the rules applying to those of us they doubtless think of as "plebs". Although we don't have Holden Commodores on our roads, we *do* have plenty of expensive German offerings and Range Rovers, whose flight crews think they're taking part in "Top Gun". Oh, and does anyone else watch Scott's videos hoping to see yet more exotic Australian wildlife performing comedy sketches on the road? 🙂

From 12:40 to 12:42, you can see the speed limit on the overhead gantry says 90. (Little bit hard to read due to the flickering of the lights but let the video run and it is clearer)
