This guy reminds me of a militarized Walton Goggins and I love it. Keep up the nice content. Let's see some night shoots in the future.

45 red dot, maintains a good cheekweld and another point of contact with my rifle, i dont move my head just twist the gun, they both work you just gotta train

Agreed. It just comes down into putting in the work.
Great timing, i just ordered a new 1-8 and was trying to decide. This will give me some more considerations i am sure. Thanks CB

Check ridge line dense on the topic and sage dynamic as well. So many thoughts on it all. I went piggyback on mine too. Mine 556 is a block 2 recce build with nx8 2.5-20x50. The selling point for me on piggyback was a heads up shooting stance with my scope at 1.54 (any higher I’d go 45) for close distances (although 45 is more comfy with how damn heavy the build is), and I like the fact that while I’m on the bipod i can still use the dot. Not being able to shoot from the prone with a bipod on a DMR rifle is a big no go
I need to get out there for another class. Keep up the awesome content!

I got mine piggybacked on top for night vision. I'm a poor and have pvs7's and it lines up perfectly with my tube.
Cant wait to get out there for a class
😂😂 I like this channel!
Offset RMR 45 degrees is my preferred. Holds are more consistent (up close), and passive aiming is easier as I've crashed my nods into the back of the Lpvo in awkward shooting positions. Also, I angle my gun slightly when using an IR laser (for a more consistent holdover) anyway, so nothing changes for me for nighttime. For the day, I usually stick to the atacr. But at the end of the day, everything is outcomes-based. I don't care if a dude mounts their dot backward and upside down just as long as they perform.
Best teeth in the business!
3:21 don’t forget barricade work. Also easier piggy backed.
To zero offset place the bipod at a 45 degree angle. Easy solution.

Zeroing doesnt always happen at the range and on a table, top mounted is superior for in-action/ in the-field adjustments, IMO.
I’m not instagram cool… I run rds at 45 degree. I can still shoot passively with night vision and can find targets at distance and roll main optic on target fast. Try both and choose what works for you.
I go with the dueck defense off set irons. What ever works best for the user though. Run what works.
Right now i have fixed iton sights that are like inch and half tall and got a 4x prism on a two inch tall aimpoint type hollow mount so you can see the irons under the prism
I used to do BUIS at a 45 with the Magpul pro flip ups, until I tried a piggyback red dot on top of the LPVO. Let’s just say I won’t ever go back to canted back up sights, irons or dots.
Solid
HOLY CRAP, Walton Goggins from Justified is a gutuber now??? cant wait for fallout movie.
3:02 😳 taking fire saaan
Piggy back. For NVG, heads up shooting position and I can use it left or right handled.
What company makes that scope mount with the built in RMR mount??
What holster for your pistol you rocking here?
Dammit, you convinced me. On top it is….lol 😂

It’s worth giving a try!
Here's your reason for running 45 deg offset irons....I run a GBRS Lerna mount on my truck gun. It is always in there in a lock box, never take it out except to change batteries....but what if the batteries go down and I don't know til shit happens. At least now I have a set of sights that do not require batteries. I do not run irons on any of my other rifles but on this particular rifle I do for this reason.
The French made a soup sandwich. It's called French Onion soup. They also made the FAMAS.
Thoughts on a primary scope, mini red dot secondary, and some flip up irons for a tertiary?

It’s worked well for us!
Believe it or not I have no back up to my red dot on my rifle. It's heavy enough. Red dot, high mounts, magnifier, grip-light combo, another light laser combo with a switch. And my cafe mashine. I would use my laser as a back up. I'm too stupid to rember a 3th hold over anyways. With out an USB port I'm fucked up, but looking cool until then.
❤
On a 10.3” gun with a Romeo5 and magnifier you aren’t mounting anything “on top.” As for zeroing 45 degree offsets, just do it at a 100yds. With the exception of a gun I plan to use past 100 yds I am not running any gun without back irons, unless it is an LPVO/scope with an etched reticle. FYI, I only run 45 degree offsets when I don’t have enough real estate on the top of the gun to run foldable backups on top.
45 is where it's at. Keeps your cheek weld and doesn't create unnecessary HOB issues. Requires a slightly higher training curve to manipulate the firearm rather than your head, but that's why we train. Plus it looks cool and that's the #1 rule, right?

45 dot feels great in the shoulder pocket while wearing plates. Just 1 of many reasons I run canted.
Piggyback is the way to go, you only have to adjust bullet drop, not new angles of the rifle when shifted 45° i also have a top mounted red dot for position with masks and nods.
45* irons for me. Irons are the best backup in my opinion, no batteries or lenses, just solid metal. And you can’t mount them on top of your scope.
I've got a 45 canted dot right now. But I'd like to go piggy and try it out.

Give it a try!
Dont do it on the sight at 45 degrees though. Because it it not in line with the bore. You might also want to considerate your role. The 45 degrees is good for snipers or recce because it works better under camouflage. Use a hog saddle to zero it. Same for guys who run lasers and dont want to obscure their sight picture. Stick the laser on top of the sight, put the reddot at 45. For assaulter support, on top is great and simple.
Rmr on acog all day
I run 12, not out of preference but out of necessity. I have almost no rotation in my left wrist/forearm (bad break when it was young and it wasn't set properly), so running it at 45 won't work because I'd have to take my support hand totally off the rifle to use it and shooting a rifle one handed would be... Sub optimal at best.
Butter butter jam 45 offset
SFP OR FFP!?
yep awesom
I always told this to everyone in my circle but they still 45° cant
Piggyback for night vision
Funny that this popped up. I was just in a discussion with a friend about this very setup. Saw a fairly budget red dot on top of a $3,000 scope. I couldn’t figure out if it was supposed to be a backup or as an alternate option for cqb. Using a cheap red dot as a backup to a super high end lpvo makes as much sense as wiping before you poop. I’m not against backup sights, just saying backup quality with quality. A red dot way up on a scope is going to stick out like a sore thumb and is more likely to break than a scope is.
Well. Honestly never thought about prone… So I guess you just converted me, lol

Jeez comment about my teeth 🦷 what ever 😂 Sorry you have to deal with some doooooosh
Canted cause it’s part of rule number one 🤙🤙🤙!!!!!
I’m a top… errr… wait! that came out wrong.
The con for me for the 12oclock dot is the height-over-bore. Depending on your zero, you have like a 4 inch hold-over inside of 50 yards.
What are back up sights? Lol
😬
Just say you don’t know how to use the offset. The negatives of both are equal. You’re 4 inch height over bore for one with the piggyback.
