BACKSTREETS and the SLUMS in the PHILIPPINES | Walk from Sta. Ana to Pandacan, Manila

For better viewing experience, you can go to the youtube screen settings on the right upper corner, choose quality, choose advanced quality, and you can choose as high as 1440 60fps. Wearing earphones is advised for HD Sounds.
Great day my dearies 😊 This walk is a walk around the city of Manila Philippines. You'll be seeing some part of the middle class up to a depressed area from Santa Ana to Pandacan Manila. However, the video shows just how you should stay positive in your life no matter what you are going through as you can see most of these people happy in their daily lives. As they say, Philippines is where the happiest people are 😊 enjoy the walk 😊

Its not perfect but its moving in the right direction. Far from a slum. Its not the richest but that's the barangay man. These ppl go to church and work neighborhood jobs. Its just super dense. More dense than tokyo. Not alot of room to build between mountains and sea on an island

I walked around Cebu through all the slums and 99% of the people were friendly and just going about thier lives surviving. All the children smiling even if they are starving . No other place on earth has such heart in the face of such poverty. I spent a good 3 years in Cebu and I shall return to the phillipines to marry my girl. The slums and boarding houses aren't so bad. Considering how dirt cheap the rent is and how relatively safe the phillipines is it's a win win. I miss the street foods ...How much things must have changed in the last several years...Duterte then the pandemic..etc etc ...I'll miss the jeepneys ! they are on their way out 😥

Feel like there will be a few classic Jeepney's that are exempt from the Jeepney ban due to being updated and aesthetically appealing. The Manila Peninsula Jeepney would be a good example. The traditional Jeepney better serves as a novelty ride than main way of public transportation.

I'm jealous of the way they live, at least in terms of them being so close in small quarters and eating, talking, and being friendly in large groups and gatherings. Here in America, we rarely converse with our neighbors and stay inside for fear of the stuff outside. Here, they walk around, talk to their neighbors, eat, and are happy. Plus, that Fried chicken that last was selling looked AMAZING. I need me some of that.

I was 10 Times in the Philippines and lived a long time there, of course also in Manila. In filipino province its totaly different. But the province life represent the true life in the Philippines, Manila is very different, alot of people who lived before in province, transfered to Manila from the whole filipino country and different cultures and local languages melt there together. Its like in all capital citys and bigger citys, like here in Vienna, its the capital of Austria 🇦🇹, Europe, here are so many different people of different cultures from abroad, of course also alot of tourist of the whole World like in Manila. People are more open minded there and not so conservative like in province. You get everything you like in Manila, there are so many big malls, Shops and International Restaurants like in every big City of the World. I have to do with the Philippines since 37 years, like a life time of a human, i like the Philippines and i am already an expert of filipino culture, traditions, life style, languages, places and also the worries of filipino people. As a doctor med. i try to help there as much and good i can. Its my real home country, Austria 🇦🇹 is just my second country where i work and live, i will live in the Philippines and settle down there forever soonest, i feel much better there, everybody are friendly with good manners and godfearing. Maraming salamat for uploading. Pls take always care about yourself there and God bless you. Best regards from Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹, Europe Your friend Michael 😊👍✋

Hi, I lived in the US for almost 10 years, in northern Jersey. Violence and crime were already present back then, but it was minimal compared to what I'm seeing today in the news. Really crazy stuff. I hope you guys can find a solution for that, whatever means necessary. Hard not to get into politics these days, it seems all pretty related. The Philippines are really beautiful, and have some of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. Wholehearted, optimistic, enthusiastic , and humble. I might have been lucky meeting people from there... I couldn't tell, but that's my experience. One side of me deeply saddens because of their poor economy, but the other half believes it's partly because of it that they are like that. I had the same feeling with cubans too.

Very well said . They might be poor economically, but they R rich in humanity, community and life affirming exuberance. They R naturally positive and happy people. I'd rather be amongst people like that than the depressingly miserable and selfish people in the west.
