Sometimes you just don't feel like walking on stage, after all, we're only human. But with enough self-encouragement and backstage pep-talk, anything is possible. Idk maybe I'm just really good at BS-ing myself.

I'm shocked that I needed to look for this comment for so long ...
I don't really comment on videos, and I can't believe that I would ever become one of those "I'm early!" commenters and I don't really want to become one of those people. I just want to say that I really enjoy these Backstage with Ray videos. You're really inspirational and also funny and human at the same time, showing the world how you deal with performance nervousness, which is always helpful. If you are really feeling sick, give yourself as much of a break as you can and practice, because I've been told that practicing makes you get better faster!
he's so chaotic and i love it

That counting down from 5 makes me really nervous even though I am just sitting in front of my PC.
I love dork Ray! Even the conductor is shaking her head haha
So encouraging to see that even he gets nervous.
"Everything was my favourite" So cute❤

Oh my gosh…we have the same humor😂 If we were desk mates we would be unstoppable and drive everyone crazy🤣🤣🤣
Imagine one of the kid was like : Your intonation was off by 1/64th tone
1:59 I think you made the harpist's day right then and there!
Ray is going to be like the best violinist and dad
Am I the only one, that also feels that nervousness in the the last minute before his performance? I mean I am a musician too and I think every musician knows that specific feeling in your stomach. And that's exactly, what I felt watching this😂😂
Love the toy story characters when the guy said toi toi toi 😂
“Don’t come in I’m naked” I died at that part lmao
I can’t even tell you how much I wish I could see this guy perform live
I wonder if Aaron Rosand watches the silly antics of his former student. I’m old school, but I must admit to laughing at some of his clownish stuff. Chen has a monstrous talent. And I admire how he inspires so many with his ready smile and genuine friendliness. But I truly hope that he continues to push himself to reach his full potential so that he will be regarded as one of the great artists of his time and not just a talented entertainer.

Most people on internet don't realise how hard is to play as a soloist, but those who play and study violin really enjoy this kind of back stage preparation, actors and actresses do this all the time but classical musicians don't have this... I really enjoy seeing him as a normal person but we know that he is not just a pretty face 🙂🙂🙂
なんて、サービス精神が旺盛なんでしょう。舞台に出る寸前までオフの彼なの?凄い切り替えで、超人的。貴重な動画をアップしてくださって、ありがとう!

I don‘t know why I just love that video... Already watched it like 10 times hahaha
Such a great post. As an orchestral player myself, it's nice to see someone show the combination of pre-show backstage jitters and prepping ("am I getting sick?"), but also the great feeling when it's gone well and you have moved people. AND..it's over! :) :)
Enjoying your channel very much.
