This looks pretty cool and interesting. Is there much difference in how good a job it does over just using AP mode on the TG6? Mine does a pretty good job of blacking out already.

The black background is mostly up to the camera exposure, but yes, this strobe will be super bright allowing you to shoot at those ideal settings and still yield the appropriate brightness/subject exposure.

How does this compare to the symbiosis ss03?

This looks perfect for my use but I am struggling with the fact that the battery and charger are not included and add $41 to the cost. Is there some logic to that other than the obvious one? Like maybe some users will power from the camera battery?

This looks great. I'm considering yet another strobe and retra lsd combo but this may be the solution for all my needs. Are there any reviews of this out there yet? Also have you guys compared the output to a z330 with retra, or ys-d2 with retra or retra flash with retra lsd? And in terms of the focus light, is it stronger than the a forementioned? My biggest issue with my ys-d1 and snoot is that I can't even see the focus light or where I'm aiming!

Reviews and sample images are popping up all over Facebook and Instagram as the first units are already in the field, so keep your eyes peeled. When we say "the brightest snooted beam", that is what we mean. We have tested against EVERY major strobe and snoot combination available right now. That includes the Sea & Sea / Inon / Retra combinations. This focus light is waaay brighter. Like, insanely bright compared to other strobe/snoot combos.

@@backscatteruw great thanks for the response guys. So you mention the focus light being really bright, how about the actual strobe itself when used? How does that compare to the bigger strobes with something like a retra lsd? I'm assuming it'll have somewhat less lumens than say a ys-d3? Unless that's what you meant by your 2nd paragraph!

With the optical snoot, how far away can the snoot be to keep a effective brightness? I'e what reach, In the video the optical snoot is very close to subject.

The snoot will be farther away from the subject in water than it is depicted in the video, as the optical beam is made to focus in water. The snoot can be used up over 12" away easily, depending on the desired beam size and edge sharpness desired.
