The backrooms whole gimmick is that it's basically the out of bounds section for reality. Extending the video game logic further, it makes sense that there would be a Minus World too.

The craziest thing is that it might not be limited by basic fixed-size integer arithmetic, but bound by the entirety of algebra. This means there could be levels with irrational value like sqrt(2), Golden Ratio, Pi, e, etc. To put that in perspective, the standard 64bit limit allows 2^64 possible levels, regardless if the integer is interpreted as signed or unsigned. This is a finite but huge number of levels, some levels are infinite themselves. If it allows any integer and rational number that means we have *indexable/enumerable/"countable" Infinity,* and if it allows any Real and Complex number it means we have *Uncountable Infinity multiplied by itself.* It's incomprehensible how huge that is, not even the full physical universe (more than the observable universe) has a size that comes _close_ to it

Okay so I used to be a serious IV heroin user (stick with me I promise this is relevant) and one time I copped a bunch of dope that had been laced with an incredibly powerful dissociative hallucinogen and when I shot it I instantly went out of my body completely and the only thing I could see were endless maddening fractals just spiraling out into infinity. _It looked exactly like this_ - I swear I had a little mini PTSD wave come over me when I saw the thumbnail. At the time I was 110% certain that I had died...somehow I was still aware enough to know that I'd just shot a bunch of dope, and since I'd ODed before in the past I concluded that was what was happening this time too. I mean I literally genuinely believed I was dead and that this was just what happens to us after we die because, well who really knows. It was the most horrifying experience I've had to date, I've never felt that kind of screaming, visceral fear like that in all my life. The idea of there being even a chance, however remote, that an actual place like this might really exist somewhere outside the bounds of normal reality is terrible beyond my ability to articulate.

That's the level just below this one this one is.. almost habitable but not really outside of the garage area which is the most stable part of it but it appears the lowest actual level that you're describing has actually become something called grayscale and is a little bit stable

ngl positive one is not that hard to get to you just need to get level "!" and noclip through one of the doors and you will go to level "the end" and i know that if you interact with one of the books it will lead you to positive one

I think why negative levels in the backrooms are so glitchy is because you aren't supposed to be there so whatever the backrooms is, it throws random stuff from it's own levels to make something stick but the levels are glitching This negative level was never supposed to be accessed to the backrooms just gives up

yeah that level is a death trap there is no way out and you will go crazy turning you into monster like the others that suffered the same faith as you

The glitching is more than explainable. It's because reality itself doesn't work in negatives. Matter never disappears, it only changes form. Time can pass, but it is irreversible. And as far as what is known, you can clip through reality, but you can't go back. Light can never be depleted completely. Sound is composed of vibrations caused by the environment. It can't be eliminated as the very fabric of atoms vibrates. So this warped area of reality loses its own reality as you go further into the abyss that is known as negatives. Think of it like a black hole, it sucks time, light and matter in, warping and compressing it until it's in a form that we can no longer comprehend. This is why Level -9223372036854775807 drives those who enter to insanity; everything about it is in a form that our brains can no-longer interpret.
