Thanks for the interest. Yes, we engineer the backrest together with the development of the case. So it does not affect it's rain resistance capability, with or without the backrest. It is easy to install, and very comfortable for passengers.

Hello, thanks for your interest. The backrest itself shields the holes. Also the oversize beveled shaped washers and the screws also limit the gaps and are designed to prevent water from coming in. We have had fantastic results with these backrests.
