BACKPACKING IN OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK

As we crept ever closer to the US and Canadian border we found ourselves in the coastal rainforest of Washington. For the last year we've least the last year we've spent all of our time in the desert making the moss-draped rain forest feel completely foreign! We were hungry to dive deep into this incredible new terrain.
On assignment to test out and use On X Backcountry, we turned to the app to find a trail that would give us a unique experience on the Olympic Peninsula!

I've just discovered your vlog and enjoyed your hike on Third Beach, one of my old favorites. I've hiked Second Beach, Rialto Beach, Shi-Shi, etc. mostly in the 1980s and 1990s. I haven't visit the Pacific Coast in a while but hope to this summer. I remember climbing the ladders overland to avoid the narrow stretches. You captured the beauty of the Pacific NW coast, the wildlife, and misty atmosphere with bald eagles, seals, Oyster Catchers, and tidal pool marine life. Thanks for sharing your adventure! We hiked the north section from Lake Ozzette to LaPush in spring 1972. Being young and foolish , we were caught by a high tide and had to scrabble up a steep bank late in the night. No one hurt and a great story. If our health holds out we plan to retrace our trip next spring 50 years latter.

40 years ago my wife and I hiked into 3rd beach, stayed for two nights and did a day hike south and back. There was no one else near our camp, and it looked like there weren't many people around when you were there as well. It looks much the same. I remember it well. Thanks for taking the time to shoot the video!

At 6 minutes 8 seconds... those rocks are not always passable even at low tide .. Sometimes the tide just doesn't get that low, but right before that you can go back up the bluff and into the forest and around.. and you come out in the same place , not that much farther. Hiked this in november during a winter storm ..awesome

Just the right amount and type of background music...MAK just kickin ass and takin names with the narration, so good, Owen if it's you on most of the shots and drone footage it's amazing. The shot at 12:26 was perfection, the stills at the end were spot on. A truly ENJOYABLE watch!!

Wow, what a stunning trip. I was in awe the entire time. I do miss green out here in Yucca Valley - as much as I love the desert, the green also calls to me, and hopefully the impediments standing in the way will ease up soon and allow a bit of travel. Thank you for sharing the beauty and also the cost of our endless disposal of things that destroy our coastline, kill wildlife and are just disgusting. You are the 2nd Nomad channel that went off on the horrors of garbage today. It's important for we, the public, to see the piles and understand the negative impact. Thanks for all the beauty!!!!!

I just discovered your channel yesterday and it quickly became my favorite. Out of about fifty. The quality is outstanding in all respects. You should have many more subs. In an earlier one about what it costs, you mentioned that you both work full-time while traveling. Would you tell us exactly what you do to make your livings while on the road? When I've heard others say this I wonder why they don't say what it is they do, but I have heard "photography." Well as a part-time photographer, with years of experience, and good at what I do, I could never make my living on the road as a photographer, and I doubt anyone else can either with rare rare exceptions. BTW, Olympic Park was one of my favorite places, especially the Hoh Rain Forest and Lake Angeles, early in the year when it was snowed in and there was no one in that part of the park for miles.

This trip made us realize how much you can do on the coast here... it got us thinking we need to do a longer version!

Looks like an amazing area for a trip. Would love to see some insight into your filming process since you do little behind the scene shots in some of your videos. I wonder how many hours of footage you have for a solid 18 minute video.
