Your cat sounds like it has the same propensity for board games as my Border Collie. He likes to participate using his tail. One sweep and chaos!

Thank god! This part is small. I am continuing to watch your series and feel nice when some parts are small. One thing is you are the best explainer I could ever find.

I got a great set for xmas back in 1980. I tried to learn by reading rules and was so confused. I tried several times and gave up. the set has been sitting in a closet since. I found your videos and you are so great at explaining. I feel very excited to FINALLY use my xmas present from 38 years ago. thank you!!

Great explanations for this beginner. My husband and I have an empty nest and are looking for two person games. We both played as children but remember nothing much so this was an excellent tutorial. *Bonus* Your accent made it even more enjoyable for me. 😁

I've been watching your series for the last few hours (interspersed with game attempts), and it's been very informative. But I wasn't expecting the comic relief that you delivered when the cat came in the room. I had to take a time out and laugh my ass off, as it were..

Thanks for the Backgammon for beginners series of videos. Both my wife and I have watched them and found them very enlightening. Both of us played a bit thirty or so years ago and we have just got a Backgammon set and have watched them as a reintroduction to the game.

Very good directions. I use to play with my father when I was a child but had really forgotten how to play. This was a very good refresher!! I so enjoyed playing with my father. Thanks for rekindling my desire to play again!!

Such thorough instructions makes a complete novice feel like a seasoned player!! , unlike other videos which jumble up game sequencing and assume you know most of the terminology. PS: I'm a complete novice but perhaps not anymore - thank you!

This tutorial is the closest thing to perfection i've encountered in my life. Thank you very much. I finished watching the tutorials last night, and today taught my dad how to play. We just finished our first backgammon game using an improvised, home made, set. I'm probably going to get a real one in the next days. Anyway, thanks again, and i'm looking foward to watching the Backgammon beyond beginner tutorials.

So thorough are your comments , makes a complete novice feel like they've played the game several times already!! Other videos get the sequence of play all jumbled up and assume you know most of the terminology, so thanks for your clarity.

I've seen all of them in a row. Very good tutorial. Although you should recommend for complete begginers trying to watch this a couple of parts per day say. To not get dizzy. Me, I already knew how to play, wasn't aware of a couple of things though, like this last one. Best regards!!!

Hi. Assuming that the match was to 9 points, then the Crawford game would have already been played, meaning black would be free to double straight away in this game. Red would take, and whoever won this game would win the match.

  • @Ensor42
    @Ensor4213 жыл бұрын

@svenneri Thanks,. Of course when these were first uploaded, there was a bit of a gap between most of the parts (some might say too much of a gap!), but I wouldn't stipulate the best way to watch them - some folks prefer them piecemeal, whilst others watch the whole lot in one go. Whatever suits the viewer is fine by me. :)

Awesome videos. This is what I was looking for, explanation to the details. I have never played the game before ever and now i am all setup to go. It would be also good if you could share do and don't in the game. Best opening moves, tips and tricks. Thanks. Really great series to watch and learn.

This series has been really excellent for my wife and myself who are, well, complete beginners. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it. We have also learned that maybe we bought the 'wrong set' (an 11 inch wooden travel set, the noise from which is already beginning to get a bit annoying). I've looked on-line for a better one but they vary enormously in price and sadly there don't appear to be many retail outlets that sell parlour games any more so it's not easy see them before buying. Can you suggest where I could buy a set similar to the one you use in the tutorials which would seem to be ideal? Thanks again!

HI I've watched your series of how to backgammon for beginners it was great and broken down into shot parts to keep my attention :-) But now can you explain what to if you roll doubles while all of your checkers are in the home bare off position. like what if you roll double six but you have no checkers on the sixth point? Also what if you roll double 5's and you only have one checker on point 3, 2, and 1 ? So basically asking you to explain all of or the majority of rolling doubles while in the home bare off position...please do and thank you so much.

I would like to clarify for myself so that Im sure I understand this. The round ends and is now 6black-8red then next game blacks wins now it is 7black and 8red and so if black doubles he would win the match and that is allowed right?

Hi good afternoon, i have a doubt. Until what moment of the game i can use the doubling cube?, for example, i can have only my last two checkers to go and mi rival have his 7 checkers on his own cuadrant, is it fair to use the doubling cube here?. Thank you very Much.

great tutorials , thanks VERY much ! all the other tutorials assume one knows the basics . 1 VERY annoying flaw is the lack of info' regarding how many tutorials there are ( EG- part 7 of 15 or 7/15 would be VERY helpful ) , at present it's like buying a book without knowing how many pages it has .can you post edit to include that info' ? just a bit of constructive criticism , don't take offence , otherwise GREAT , thanks !

richard jagger Take offence??, ME?! lol. But seriously, thanks for commenting, and I take your point. Some of this was unfortunately due to KZread's changes. Originally, every video in the series was linked to the next and previous videos in the series so that viewers could easily move between them, but the feature was scrapped. All the videos in both series are however in their respective playlists, and can be accessed from my channel in a similar way, so I hope that helps.
