Backbone of a Nation: The Stunning Mountains of Taiwan

Renowned for its stunning natural beauty, Taiwan is dominated by soaring peaks.
Around 70 percent of its land area is covered by mountains, with over 100 peaks taller
than 3,000 meters. The island’s mountains play a central role in the cultures of some
indigenous tribes, and are also home to a wide range of ecosystems. This video
explores the beauty and majesty of these Taiwanese icons as well as the massive
tectonic forces that led to their formation.

Yeah I checked out Taiwan on Google earth, excepting to see nothing but mass human sprawl and little wilderness. Wow was I surprised. Now I am very interested in visiting. 👍

Best country I have been to so far. We went to well preserved old towns. City tours, and a bit of nature trips. They have a lot of good nature-y places. Always peaceful and people are very nice.

(17:36) I was introduced to High Mountain Taiwan oolong tea some years ago. It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before, and I urge people who love tea, to search for it. There are no words to describe..

A bit overly dramatic and rather patronizing narration.
