That's so cool @ran4erep! I'll always have a soft spot for my Surface Pro 2 so it's awesome to hear there are still some devices out there going strong!

My dad used to use a surface pro 5 for work. He's now retired and gave it to me for school. Can't say I'm disappointed. This thing is amazing Edit: This comment was written using the exact surface i told you guys about

How do you get the surface to auto rotate when in tablet mode? Cant seem to figure it out

The easiest way is to use the search bar or press the windows button and type "Rotation" this will bring up your rotation lock settings for you to turn on or off.

Such a good question - they're really hard to come by these days as unfortunately they have been out of production for some time... Picking one up second hand would be your best chance! Fingers crossed you can locate one and please let us know if you do!

The pen tips do eventually wear out. It does depend how much you use it day to day. I've found the Slim Pen 2 tips very durable myself, more so than previous Surface Pens. But why doesn't the Surface Pro 9 have an earphone jack? No thanks. Not all people like wireless earphones. Even Macs have an earphone jack.

Hi there, have you considered headphones that use USB-C connections? You can get vastly better audio quality as you can get more than two channels.

Additionally, it is possible to write on PDF files using a Surface Slim Pen 2 directly in a web browser without installing the app. However, you will need to adjust the pen's thickness manually using the drawing dropdown menu located in the taskbar at the top left corner.

Does pen support palm rejection?

It sure does! Palm rejection is enabled by default on the Surface Pro 9, but you can also find it in the setting under bluetooth & devices > Pen & Windows Ink > Additional Pen Settings and then ensure the box for 'ignore touch input while I'm using my pen' is checked ✅ Hope this helps!

Hi! Doesn't it write wiggly, like make wiggly lines? I have the SP9, but I use the SP4 pen. It doesn't wiggle in my SP4 nor in my Dell 2-1 (from work) and I did saw someone else complaining about this issue too. I thoyght it was because is an old pen, but it seems like is not the case.

Thats really interesting. I'm not entirely sure why that would be the case. I have an older Surface Pen and I can't get it to replicate the issue on my Pro 9. I'm sure you have done this, but maybe just disconnecting it and reconnecting it via Bluetooth might help?

@EZANZ Green! That green was beautiful. I got the Sapphire this year but wasn't really happy with the color. I'm the type to not add anything to change the colors of my devices. Got a green Galaxy S24 and I wear a clear case.

Are there any problems with battery, charging port, or displays in the long run? My brother's surface laptop suddenly won't turn on, the culprit was either the charging port, battery. It's difficult for it be diagnosed here in the Philippines because service centres are islands away (Manila), plus they give you a 50/50 chance of survival if they open it up. So my brother is reluctant to send it, and it's just lying around in his house, and could not access all of his files.

I've never had the charging port actually break on me and I've been using Surface Devices for 7 years now. Once with a Surface book I had to use an alcohol wipe to clean out my charging port to as the little connectors had gotten dirty. I have had chargers themselves break before. I would recommend cleaning the charging port with an alcohol wipe and trying to charge the device with a USB-C charger through one of the USB-C ports. If it turns on after getting charged via the USB-C port the battery is okay. Then it's a matter of waiting for the alcohol to evaporate from the regular charging port and trying the charger that came out of the box with it. The final thing you could do if you find it still won't charge through its regular port is take it to a store that sells Surface and see if you can try one of their chargers. If it chargers with one of their chargers then you know it's an issue with the charger that came with it in the box and not the device :)

Can it handle very well SOLIDWORKS?

I unfortunately don't have the software to test it out and I couldn't find the Surface Pro 9 on units they have tested on their website. The 16gb Ram models may be able too, but I would say you would have a far better experience on a Laptop Studio.

As a laptop replacement; yes. As a tablet replacement or 'I wish I had a much larger screen version of my phone'; no. For the people in the market, please adjust your expectations accordingly. SP is good product as a laptop, honestly a little bit frustrating as a tablet.

Battery life on the Surface Pro 9 is up to 15.5 hours on the Intel models and up to 19 hours on the 5G model!

It's pretty damn good. I regularly take it out with me with no charger and use it all day because I know I'm not going to need to charge it. Sometimes I'll use it for playing Dungeons and Dragons, I keep the screen on all day and interact with it constantly to check reference materials.

Does it have palm rejection?

Surface pro product Think before buy in India's microsoft badly systems with vendor/ Distributor/ Customer Support Team if same Day product manufacturing fault in product and retun they are doesn't refund your hard money only unqualified products returns with plain box without BIS standard sell in india we are case filed in consumer forums my stake only in Mfg doesn't check quality and end user faulty product sell then every one approach legal action

It is a shame you think its not worth it in India. I've personally never had an issue with any of my Surface products before. They get tested very rigorously. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the after sales processes in India to comment on the rest.
