Back to Life: A Scotts 15/42 Lawn Tractor

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I bought this from someone in my town for $50. It had some electrical problems, but the engine started right up- I didn't even need to clean the carb! Of course I ended up painting nearly the entire tractor. I think it came out pretty nice considering its age.

Thank you for the compliment! I really enjoy the painting process- I try to just keep the painting simple, by using spray paint- but I figure that anyone can do the same!

Congratulations on hitting the 1k threshold buddy you deserve it. Not a lot of viewers realise the amount of time that goes into putting out a good quality video on YT. Keep up the good work.

Much appreciated my friend! Yes, it does take a lot of time. The video editing has been more fun than I thought it would be- but filming myself work on machines has been the hardest part. It’s difficult to document the diagnosis and repair process so that the final outcome makes sense on film

As a recent subscriber, I just wanted to register my opinion on length of videos. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t care how long they are, as long as they cover the subject completely. I don’t mind multi-part videos if it’s easier to edit and upload, as long as they are titled the same and named “Part 1”, “Part 2”, etc. I have absolutely no use for Shorts. Just so you know, I’ve been teaching myself small engine work for 2.5 years and have averaged 150 hours per month watching KZread videos over that time period. I’m subbed to dozens of different channels.

I think you find rust oleum clear coat does a much better job on those plastics. It will also make faded paint look new. Great job on the paint match. BTW the clear coat has been holding up for a few years on the Craftsman GT restoration projects I keep use and store outside.

Also great for deck deflectors as well. Even a rusty spring will look way better with a little clear coat.

Good to know! I used rustoleum clear coat for the first time on a recent project (1991 Craftsman lt4000). I thought it looked great. I’ll try to use it more in the future!

3 post solenoids get ground through the mount and the tab you saw was power and in the switch was to put power from the battery side of solenoid and when you turn the swotch on powers the solenoid and connects the two sides. On a 4 post solenoid its the same but the ground is on a second small tab either tab is power or ground they won't matter

Great looking trailer, Kyle! I’m working on getting one myself. What dimensions is yours? Would you prefer a larger one, especially since your new ZT has a huge deck? I was thinking 5 X 8 would probably work for me.
