yes you can..

Can we use terrakotta bead as sliding bead for the backrope? Will it be durable enough? Because wooden bead i get is with big hole and very loose without enough grip.

Yes you can, provided the bead is baked completely. If the jewellery baked in electric kiln then it will be strong enough than traditional baking.

What size cord can be used? Is 1.5 mm enough?

@@rasbare If there is a crack then definitely it will break while baking or firing. So you must knead the clay well before making any designs. The clay must have enough moisture. Then you will not face this problem. Please do practice more. Then you will definitely get it. Keep practicing...
