In CA, I’ve seen signs in one way aisles with diagonal parking ports. Actually got ticketed, that’s how I know 😂. Came in from the other aisle for convenience, but if you end up getting blocked from the rear, you’re heading out in the wrong direction. Kinda makes sense 🥲.

Im a delivery guy. Its much safer backing in because you can see everything as you approach your parking space. Then when you leave you see everything in front of you. When you park face forward, when you leave its much eaiser to hit something or someone because all you have is your side view mirrors. I live on a busy street and we always back in so when we leave we can exit the driveway much safer.

This. I used to work in the oil & gas industry and some facilities would require you to back in for these exact reasons. One place said they implemented the policy after they had three accidents where people backed out of a parking spot at the end of the work day and hit something.

Good show - The French forest service built one back in the 50s from a couple of Citroën 2CVs. Popular Mechanics ran a story on it. Some of the forest roads in the mountains had no space to turn around in so that was their answer.

I've seen it in parking garages where I live. My state only requires rear license plates so they want to be able to scan the plates while driving through the garage. I've never seen it in a normal parking lot like in the video though.

For real. We have "back in only" here, mostly in lots with alot of trucks and vans (no rear view or side windows) . Safest way to pull out of a spot. They're literally prioritizing giving tickets and tows over customer safety. And they're lazy about it too. This is Florida we're talking about here though 🤣🤣

Its because there are no parking curbs. Backing in has a longer overhang and can result in hitting poles, trees, fences, and overhang onto the sidewalk or road.

@@snackler6102 yea never seen much driving in Europe. Did not realize you all have perfect driving skills. In the US they design things for the lowest demoninator. For most people it's not an issue.

@@Grapefruit5000 some states don't require front plates so if you back in, they can't see your plate if you don't have one in the front. It's really just a dumb law, another form of revenue for the government

Switch the motor on a sliding door to make it close when people come near it Instead of opening. Doing this will force people to either run through it or avoid the sensor. 😂
