Back In Life With Syed Nadeem Alam | Casual Talk Podcast

Back in Life!!!!!
Reflecting on life and contemplating a comeback always brings a smile. This process is charming and seemingly harmless. After breakfast, I often dash off a few lines about whatever comes to mind. Sometimes it's asinine stuff, occasionally interesting, but that's rare....smile
Yesterday, we decided to read an excerpt on camera by the canal. The idea, suggested by Mansoor Bhai, was well-received. Actually, such ideas are always conceived by him. He's keen on doing something with AI agents, which amuses me. My knowledge of AI is limited; the word "agent" makes me think of a CIA agent. But that's the lighter side of the story....
After morning prayers, I couldn't sleep, fearing I might miss our morning program. It was not easy to get up early with a purpose in mind nowadays, even though I usually rise with the lark. By seven, everyone was ready, and within minutes, we set off. However, passing by Lawrence Garden, we changed our plan and turned in. The garden was as beautiful as ever, with its huge green trees, lush lawns, and old working fountains. Lahore looks impressive before the crowds take over. The small "khokas" during our time in Lawrence Garden were now better tuck shops, and interestingly, all the benches were occupied as people slept on them. It’s a blessing for those without a place to sleep at night.
A few health-conscious individuals were walking, jogging, and exercising, most struggling with weight. It’s a national trend that after forty, our bellies expand, stubbornly resisting any amount of exercise. Watching them, I couldn't help but smile at the shared struggle. The morning air was crisp and unpolluted. The imposing Lawrence Garden in the early hours was a complete contrast to the bustling city life just beyond its gates.
As we set up the mobile in place of a camera, the excitement was palpable. Mansoor Bhai, with his usual enthusiasm, explained the concept again, and I read out as planned. The quiet morning provided the perfect backdrop for our readings. It felt great, capturing our thoughts on film in such a peaceful setting. There was a sense of accomplishment when we finished, knowing we had started our day with purpose and creativity.
The event concluded, and I got dropped off, returning in less than five minutes. Today, I’m writing well before breakfast. Luck was on our side, with cloudy weather and a lazily rising sun. As I sit here, reflecting on the morning's activities, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and connection with life. These moments remind me of the simple joys in life and the importance of seizing each day with enthusiasm and creativity.
