@@homelander982 nope... the jigarthanda only took the core idea from the korean film. Just like ghajini from memento. Otherwise the korean film and jigarthanda are completely different film. This is definitely not the remake of the korean one because bachchan pandey characters are exactly like the jigarthanda ones. Even some dialogues are same.

The way that you were able to instantly relate this to a South Indian movie is something majority Indians, me included fail to do. 😅 Goes to show how deep you are in Indian Cinema. Kudos for that 👍👍The north and south cultures are so diverse and different, that most people never have the motivation to explore other cinemas. With movies like KGF and Pushpa it's changing but not significantly. I myself got interested in south Indian movies after watching your trailer reactions. 😁 So thanks for that. So I just can't stop myself from replying it to everyone😓. The korean movie is a movie about the final chapter in a gangsters life. And some 10 mins of the whole movie involves a filmmaker interviewing the gangster. But the Tamil movie is completely about a filmmaker getting into trouble when the gangster forces him to make a movie with him as the lead. The filmmaker is the 'sidest side char' of the korean movie. While the entire Tamil movie is about the filmmaker and his problems. So, please🙏

Hm, that Seven Psychopaths comparison is an interesting one and it does give those vibes but I'm not sure Farhad Samji could ever pull off that Martin McDonagh stuff obviously. And this was the same case with Housefull 4, the trailer was really fun and promised a good movie but in the end, it was actually a sh*tshow so I'm not keeping my hopes up.

I watched Tashan and was awesome. It had a old wild west feeling to it, hilarious and gang of a fun too. Bachan Pandey is a character in that movie, I didn't watch the South Indian one but probably will watch it too now. This is like a backstory and seems awesome too. Looks like they've finally brought justice to this character. I don't know if the character had a glass eye in Tashan though.

But the team of jigarthanda never admitted that their movie was 'heavily' inspired by dirty carnival. The director did admit that the entire idea of the movie was born from a single scene of the original. He then mixed with his own life experience during his early days and.... Made the movie. Just watch the korean movie. The korean movie is a super serious gangster movie with very little humour. And it's depressing too. The filmmaker portion in the korean movie doesn't even last more than ten minutes. While jigarthanda is primarily based on the idea of a filmmaker making a movie with a gangster.

Dirty Carnival (Korean) story got altered to Jigardhanda (Tamil) which got altered to Gaddalakonda Ganesh (Telugu) which again got altered to Bachcham Pandey (Hindi) . So officially none of it are remake of anything .. 😄

To all the movie buffs claiming the south version 'Jigarthanda' was actually a remake or copy of dirty carnival.... You guys really need to know how to watch a movie actually. F**ers! dirty carnival is a gangster movie where a smalllest subplot from it involves a filmmaker researching about gangsters. It's not even the main story and only expands to a tiny portion, whereas jigarthanda is completely a comedy movie ABOUT a filmmaker making a film with a real life gangster. Where is the f**ing similarity?

For all those people who are barking that Jigarthanda is a remake, y'all better watch Dirty Carnival and then come speak. Jigarthanda only took the plot as an inspiration and made a masterpiece of itself (loosely adapted). But Bachchhan Paandey is a complete scene-to-scene official remake of the movie. I dont have a good feeling about this movie. Jigarthanda had a darker side to it. It wasnt all goofy and silly. But this is more "bollywood" and has a commercial vibe to it.
