Elegant, unassuming, feels like an easy piece…. As it is meant to be and enables understand the overarching beauty without being overly complex and helps the listener to just enjoy and detect the beauty of it.

I still embrace the memory of his Chaconne some years back in Tokyo played with a modern setting. This Chaconne yet another great performance of Ilya made my day in the depressing pandemic. So beautiful! Waiting for his tour here in Japan some time, very soon!!

I can't find any words. How can one describe something so unique that it isn't like anything.....? I feel that the quiet intimacy of the Baroque violin sound means there is less sustain so that ornamentation is a way to fill in the harmonic structure, but a result can be to play much faster. Someone very familiar and knowledgeable could hear and understand all the harmonic structures faster, many times faster, and rubato more casually to weight the key notes and treat the passing notes very lightly... but for slower listeners like myself, who want to ponder the emotions, I feel this went too quickly.
