When I first bought this perfume I could barely smell it, so the first time I wore it I did about 20 sprays! The thing is that everyone else could smell me from 30 feet 🤣

ooow..really? interesting. Was it during cold season or summer? i'm interested to test this out...so far no luck in hot humid weather....ppl around me couldnt smell it even they got really close to me.

I love, love, LOVE BR540! But I am a lover of gourmand/warm/cozy/amber scents so it is in my wheelhouse. For those who love BR540 but cannot swing the price, Alphaora by Pierre Guillaume is not exactly a dupe but definitely in the same family and retails for around $120 US dollars and $100 Euros for the 50ml. Worth trying a sample or decant if you enjoy these types of fragrances. Thanks for the review, Sophie! 💖

It's truly expensive but I agree that it has good value for money because you only need one spray. At first it smelled like warm cotton candy cloud to my nose. I didn't get the "antiseptic" note in the opening and the woody notes in the base. After a few more sprays, I can now detect the amber and woodiness. I love it, and I'm afraid of using it up so I only use it for special events.

There is a brand called Oakcha that dupes high end perfumes. I got a Killian dupe and it was super high quality. I could smell it on my skin the next day. They have a Baccarat dupe. Lots of videos on youtube about this dupe . That is how I found the company. It took a couple of weeks to ship but it was only 39$ for an Extrait perfume. Higher quality than Eau de parfum. You might want to check it out.

Julianna’s perfume has one too and they do dupes that are 99% or more similar. Also, in the designer/celebrity world of fragrances there is Burberry her and Ariannas cloud which are well known to have a similar vibe.

Honestly I’ve tried many dupes and am currently waiting for the real thing to be delivered today. Just save up. The dupes don’t compare. Cloud is the closest imo but about 80% and last for 30 minutes on me. 🙄

My wife wanted this. So I bought some samples for her to try. And wow I was just struck with the most beautiful aromas. Bought her the extrait de parfum cause I definitely would love to have her smelling like this forever.

I have the massive 200ml bottle of both the original and the Extrait. Yes, BR540 it is THAT good, so much so that I had to have 400ml worth of it in its two iterations. Fantastic worn alone or layered with virtually any scent you can think of.

I sprayed it on my skin and the longer it stays on my skin,the better it smells! Surprisingly it also does suit warmer weather very well,I wear it in summer and it turned out lovely. So warm,sweet and airy

I think it’s a very strong fragrance in all ways. I like it every once in a while. It’s definitely a classic and beautiful perfume. I think Ariana Grande s Cloud has an essence to it and it’s easier for me to wear

I own this and have to admit I adore it. I have nothing else like it

You are so right. Definitely get why it is so popular and quality is amazing but I cannot wear this scent too often because it is so particular. Still, from time to time I crave it. But as I do not need it to be so longlasting Ariana Grandes Cloud perfectly satisfies this craving at a fraction of the price. Admittedly it is not at the same level of refinement but I rather invest in perfumes which are more wearable for me. Maybe I will buy the travel size...

That's a 75ml bottle not 50. BR540 is strong but not offensive/in your face scent. Its an absolute masterclass. It leaves a trail, where people will notice it as you walk past them or move about.

Bought the 200ml from Net a Porter with 10% off but eye wateringly expensive but better value than the smaller sizes. I love the smell and it is great for layering with other fragrances.

I own many niche fragrances but this one is my all time favorite.I have 70 ml bottle but when I run out I'm getting 200 ml for sure!

Own it!! My first niche fragrance purchase and I’m loving it! To me it’s more of a going out at night fragrance which I haven’t really been doing except when traveling, so it’s pretty much my night time travel scent lol!! But this one doesn’t seem to be your type of fragrance, just based on your reviews you seem to like more of the floral scents, some fresh and some slightly fruity sweet fragrances.

Similar to burberry her, yes. But bacarrat is much airier and more well blended

I adore Bacarat rouge 540. I dont own it yet, actually I own a tester of it and the extract. Ariana grande cloud is almost identical which I own and adore ♥️

Great review! I've had a sample for well over a year and noticed it has incredible lasting power! I always smell it on clothing I've worn, which is lovely. I had a chance to purchase, on sale, at Saks recently (35ml) and that's just enough. I really like it!🙏🏾✌🏾

The Pride for Armaf for Woman ( White edition ) smells exactly like this , Also In the Stars ( Bath and Bodyworks ) is also a great dupe of it at much lower price , maybe lasting power is not as good but still we can respray 😂😂 Love the video , big fan of ur videos. I'm fraghead and doctor both 😂🙏 I personally love fragrance of Baccarat Rouge 540, thanks for buying perfume and making video on it

It's a gorgeous fragrance and very distinctive you know exactly when someone id wearing this. And so many people wear it no it's no longer that appealing

I absolutely loooooove BK540!!!!

not everybody gets to enjoy its beast mode projection, sillage or even longevity. Some ppl are anosmic to this lovely perfume. Also...i personally tested in 2 environment..BR540 tends to stay longer, better sillage + projection in cold environment, in my case (SE Asian country), in an airconditioned room👍. But in room temp. (35°C - 40°C) ... it dissappears within 10min 😞. On clothing it can stay a bit longer. if the clothes is in a cold room/closet....the scent lasted for 2-4days. I might want to try to wear BR540 this year end (monsoon season) to see its performance. By far ... it is the most airy, light, unique ambery warm fragrance i hv ever smelled, imo. So classy & comforting at d same time.

Thank You Sophie....to me it smells like burned sugar with a medicinal note....sweet, warm and very intoxicating....but i am also not the biggest fan because of that sweetness. :)

Just bought this perfume after smelling it on a friend. Heard about it before but thought it was pricey. you've described it perfectly....intoxicating. Soki, I'm surprised you didn't love it, it seems like your kind of fragrance or so I thought.

if you want to try others from the range you can get 4 samples for 14 euros posted to uk from their own website. Le beau parfum is lovely as is grand soir. Oud satin mood has a very jammy rose (similar to nina ricci noir l'extase).

Finally! Glad i saw this review, ihave experienced wearing this, it's definitely beautiful blended perfume and we call it ghost fragrance smells expensive but it wont stick on you until a couple of hour it just appears. Strangely haunted. People around you will definitely notice even for 1 or 2 sprays. This is ultimately exquisite niche perfume, it is something either you love or hate it on first sniff...Strange but magical. Next please make a review of her sister BR540 extrait, this one is gem! Take care my dear...

I have El Harriman Amber Oud Rogue. Smells the same on me, for a lot less. Long lasting too.

I wanted to like it but I definitely get the dentist office note 😭 so I prefer Cloud ☁️

I appreciate how down to earth you are about perfumes. No way ever will I spend that much on a perfume. I don't care how good it may be; I can smell good without spending a mortgage payment on a single fragrance. I also think the super expensive ones are often way too heavy and they make me feel sick and give me a headache. I also don't want to gag everyone at work or on a night out with a really heavy perfume that everyone else is forced to smell the entire time. At least it lasts a long time though.

I was so happy when I went to Selfridges to test it and it smelled unisex which I strongly dislike. There is no way I could afford it, glad it didn't suit me 😂

I’m obsessed with the extrait and I feel like it last longer on me and I can smell it all day. However, I feel that the original has more projection and gets noticed more. What are your thoughts on projection between the two?

I love the BR 540 Extrait. But for the price I feel like I might need to sell a child. lol!!

I honestly don’t think they smell anything alike. Her smells like soap upon dry down to me. Even upon first spray it’s mot similar imo.

Great video!:) Unfortunately I couldn't justify paying that much for a perfume I'd only wear when I'm in a certain mood. I really like fresh fruity uplifting fragrances. (Clinique Happy is my signature scent) so this would be lost on me. Sometimes in the winter/fall months when I want something cozy and inviting my go-to scent is Roberto Cavalli. Just an absolute stunner that lasts all day. I agree with you Soki I cannot do overly heavy incensey type fragrances, although it is beautiful...I'm kinda glad I don't like it because they would make a big dent in my wallet 😩🤣

You’re so lucky you can smell it! I can smell it on other people, just not on me. I get anxiety thinking maybe I don’t smell like I have the perfume on with this one, only reason I hold back wearing this one too often. I do get a whole lot of compliments though. It’s a love hate.

Super hyped in my fragrance community as well. Decided to buy a decant. The opening reminds me of burnt rubber. We rode these buses growing up and when they hit the brakes, you can just smell the burnt rubber lingering and it would make others puke. I cannot love this perfume because of that memory. So you’re definitely right, perfume is so personal.

The lasting power is amazing but I don’t love the scent. It is too heavy for me and makes me a bit queasy as well.

I have tried SO HARD to like this perfume since everyone raves about it but I just can’t. I feel nauseated. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Granted, I haven’t tried the original but have tried the dupes from Dossier, ALT, and Oakcha-also Burberry Her and AG’s Cloud, which all smell pretty much the same to me (based on reviews, it sounds like they’re all pretty darn close). Anyway, luckily it saves me $300+ but still, I have all these dupes, which I purchased because I kept thinking I was getting a “bad” one since the scent seemed so off to me 🤣 Glad so many people enjoy it but I’ll stick to my fruity florals 😂💕

Sounds really nice but i don t like strong perfumes. At some point i want to smell air too.

I will get this one, right after I win the lottery. Nice honest review.

I’ve been to Bloomingdales and had it sprayed on my arm…couldn’t smell anything. Everyone says how amazing this fragrance is I feel like I should give it another shot.

I couldn’t smell anything either. Then the SA (also at Bloomingdales) immediately sprayed the extrait on me and I smelled that one without a problem. Interestingly enough, I also purchased the oil and I can smell that, but not the 540 EDP.

Al Haramain Amber Oud Rouge @ 70 U.S. dollars for a 2 oz. bottle and velvet boxed presentation. Incredible dupe for BR540 extrait. Lasts All Day and right into the next. Done!

I wanted to love MFK BR 540 so much because I love amber so much but all I could smell was an antiseptic medicinal smell. Just wondering if MFK BR 540 smells medicinal on anyone else ???? Can't believe that it's just me ???

I don’t get a ‘band aid vibe’ but more of a minerally scent. If u like this but don’t wanna break the bank try B&BW In the Stars. Musky and fruity!
