Hello, thanks for the comment! Sure: 1) read the paratext (author, nature, date, source, register), 2) Identify the theme of the document (key words) + find the main arguments of the auhor (structure, paragraph, examples, etc.) = make sure you understand the author's point of view (does he defend one aspect, several?), 3) write the report: do not write everything (it is a synthesis) but concentrate on the main arguments and their order in the text. Good luck! :)

Hello, thank you for the comment! Absolutely: make sure you know how to use a unilingual dictionary. Check how to translate a dialogue (it's not the same in French and in English) and know your tenses in French (prétérit often needs to be translated into passé simple, and NOT passé composé - so make sure you remember the conjugations). Check that you're translating into the right register (formal / casual / vulgar). Be careful not to forget elements when you're translating, nor to add some. Finally, have a look at different translation methods: transposition / chassé croisé, etc. Good luck!

Hi, there's something I didn't quite understand, you can do the translation first. So does that mean that you have to mark it at the beginning of the page and say that you start with the translation? or it just means that you can start translating it first, but you have to write it at the end after writing the commentary ?

Hello, it doesn't matter at all! You can do it at the beginning of your paper (just make sure to write 'Partie 2' before) or you can write it at the end - it's really up to you! :)

Hello, not exactly, it is closer to a 'lecture analytique'. You don't present your findings line by line, you study the common themes and draw links between them. Hope this helps!

J'ai une question, si jamais document a et b vont ensemble avec l'axe 1 mais que le document c ne rentre pas dedans et que pour axe 2 doc c et b vont ensemble mais pas avec le a . Est ce que donc je fais un axe sur a et b sans parler du c ou alors je suis obligé de trouver un axe qui regroupe les 3 document ? Je ne sais pas si ma question est claire désolé !

hi ! the transposition is after your synthesis where you have to sum up how the author write his text: you have to analyze how he exposes his arguments to reach his readers. you have to write in french for the transpo and don’t freak out, i’m sure you’re gonna rock this exam !

a transposition is like the global idea of an entire document whereas a translation really sticks to the text word for word and it's only a short paragraph taken from a document.

Hello! Sure, here it is: Translation = you are given an extract from a document. You have to translate everything word for word. Pay attention to the register, the tenses, the style, etc. Do not forget words or ideas. Transposition = you are given a whole text to summarise. You have to find the main arguments of the text, the author's point(s) of view and then, to write a summary in French (you do not have to write everything down, as it is a synthesis of the document and not a direct translation). Pay attention to the structure of the text, and the arguments order. Hope this helped, good luck!

Bonjour, mes excuses pour mon délai de réponse :/. Oui c'est normalement possible ! A partir du moment où un niveau bac est validé, vous pouvez rentrer en licence LLCER avec parcoursup - en étant motivé et en ayant un bon niveau d'anglais :).

Si je ne me trompes pas la transposition tu dis les idées principales du texte tu ne rentres pas forcément dans les détails tu ressort juste l'essentiel alors que la traduction tu essaies de traduire mot pour mot ce que l'auteur dit Voilà en tout cas moi j'ai compris comme ça !
