Babyzen Yoyo Bassinet, An Impartial Review

In order to keep our recommendations up to date, we maintain a 'Buyer's Guide' (with a wide spectrum of models, and a lot of technical and lifestyle-related information). Organizing our recommendations this way makes it easier to include good models that we haven't made review-videos for yet, as well as to remove models which have developed unforeseen wear-issues over time, or which have been weakened by the manufacturer in their current iterations. In this video we take a close look at the Babyzen Yoyo Bassinet, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of its design in relation to comfort, functionality, engineering, and optimal use.

I had the bugaboo (with bassinet) initially & my daughter hated it. Then I changed to the yoyo+ w/newborn pack and my daughter loved it!! She’s very much on the smaller side (bottom 2%) and I think she felt more wrapped up & secure in the yoyo newborn whereas the bugaboo was just too big for her she just kept trying to find something to hold onto to keep herself secure. I myself was actually quite apprehensive about the yoyo newborn but just seeing my daughter’s reaction to it completely reassured me. Plus the advantage of having such a lightweight easy solution here in central London where we constantly go in and out of the tube was just priceless. Really what got me on to the yoyo in the 1st place was just seeing all the babies in our neighbourhood in it. It’s really the most popular pram model by far and for a very good reason. So while I do appreciate your channel’s reviews, I actually beg to differ a lot on this particular one.

Can you look at Leclerc aswell? It's very similar to this stroller, except the carrycot is much bigger. Just want to see which one is more practical. An maybe also Bumprider Connect and their carrycots? Would be awesome to see three competing strollers in a comparison video. 😂

Hello, can bassinet be really used all 6 months or at least 5? I just got one and it looks so tiny, I'm not sure If a little baby will even fit there..the baby's still on the way so I can't check it out but I tried to put a winteroverall there size 56 and it's so narrow...

Hi! So I’m debating between the newborn back and the bassinet. The Yoyo is my main stroller, because of the Manhattan 3 story walk up lifestyle. I currently attach my maxi cosi car seat when strolling around NYC. I love the idea of the new born back being able to fold when stroller is broken down, but you mentioned the bassinet would be a better option correct for protection? I was hoping to eliminate having to carry an extra piece (car seat or bassinet) by using the newborn pack. Do you think the newborn pack wouldn’t be great for NYC?

Probably too late for you, but maybe someone else has the same problem: I had the newborn pack and found it useful from 2-5 months. Before that, my baby seemed too fragile and afterwards too big for it. But it only worked well on totally smooth terrain. I used a baby carrier a lot and the yoyo for my bag and as a place to safely put baby in while sitting in a café/resaturant. The yoyo only takes up the space of a chair, when you fold down the handle and can therefore be used in spaces where you couldn't bring a normal stroller. You can even use it to stroll your baby up and down in your flat. You can also combine the newborn pack with the car seat without disassembling. Car seat is sturdier and narrows the footprint of the stroller further, as you can steer it with only the car seat handle and fold the stroller handle down (also great for carrying it down steps), but the car seat adds weight and babys should not stay in it for longer periods of time, if it does not recline. The newborn pack is great to buy used, as you can wash all parts. I would not pay the full price, as it is only a nice-to-have gimmick, not an all-round solution.

Hi, it's been a while since the comment, but just in case you see it: which Maxi Cosi car seat did you get? I'm trying to find one that works well with yoyo2 but there are mixed reviews/info online on what's compatible. Thanks

We were considering just getting the Cybex cloud z carseat which is compatible with the yoyo2 and has lie flat function so can be used for longer than 2 hrs. Wander if the bassinet has any advantages over this 🤔

Not at all. The Cybex Cloud Z makes a great pairing with the Yoyo for a car-based lifestyle, buying the bassinet as well would be a waste, imo. :)

Can this type of car seat can only be used, when the yoyo is not in its 6+ mode (as the plastic back rest would block the feet section)? My Maxi Cosi Citi could fit with the 6+ setup (not well but it was possible).

I want to choose between the bassinet and the 0+ pack, i know i will need it for hospital and shopping so not worried about the terrain. How can i choose ? I'm not planing in buying a new stroller, and i do not think i would travel with a new born soon .. what do you suggest as they are similar in price. Thank you so much ..

If you don't live somewhere where you will need to fold and carry your stroller regularly (i.e. crowded public transport with no room for a stroller), then in my opinion, you should go for the bassinet for the added protection, and also because you'll probably get more selling it on the used market when you're done with it. :)
