    I HATED MIDDLE SCHOOL SO MUCH! But at the same time I loved it. before middle school started and I was in sixth grade. Everybody was on my side I was the popular kid and I loved it. Teachers were glad to see me. My friends were awesome it was great. But then middle school happened. The day before the first day of school my great grandma, who I was very close with, passed away. I was so sad, so sad in fact I had cried myself to sleep. That night my mom had emailed all my teachers telling them what happened. The first few days of middle school were ok but there are people who are very mean that made me sad. On top of my grandma dying Thea’s people thought it was funny to make fun of things I can’t help. However there was this teacher who I will never forget. Mr S my social studies teacher. He talked to me, let me know that he could help, told me I mattered. He was what got me through middle school. Now most bullies don’t even bother me anymore. It still hurts when they do but not as much.

    If I was your brother, I do ALL of your chores and let you take all the credit so you get paid/praised for them. Id clean up ALL of your messes and if you have friends over...I would clean their mess also! When you do something wrong, I would take blame for it so you dont get in trouble! I'm so nervous about going next year to middle school!! New people, lockers, HARDER HOMEWORK... And most of all.. DRAMA.. At my school there's already a LOT of drama, but I know in middle school it's a lot harder... And one of my friends is already drifting away from me, when I did nothing to her.. Can anyone maybe help me cope with the anxiety? If not, it's totally okay! I'm mostly nervous of the drama.. and everything.. xD

    There will always be drama in life. In middle school, high school, college, and even when you get a job. Some people just love drama and can't stay away. Middle school is a great time to learn to cope deal with it. The easiest way to avoid it, is to always be kind. Drama usually involves something bad about someone and if there are people in your life stirring up drama, let them sail away. You don't have time or energy for that! Don't be afraid to talk to your parents. Middle school may have been a long time ago for them, but they have dealt with plenty of drama in their lives. They may have some solid advice. And the lockers - you'll get it. I was super scared of them as well, but after the first couple of days, you'll literally wonder why you ever stressed about it! You've got this. Stay strong, be kind, and remember each day is a new day for you to be an awesome unicorn!

    i am just now starting middle school and I'm 11. I am worried about not getting asked by anyone to babysit for them. I have a quick question. I took the safe sitter course but I was wondering if I could start of as a mamma's helper?

  • @BabysitterBoss

    @BabysitterBoss

    5 жыл бұрын

    I think starting as a Mother's Helper is a great idea! It will give you experience around kids while having a parent close by in case you need help. Plus, when you start trying to get jobs, you'll be able to talk about all you learned as a Mother's Helper which will impress the employer and give them confidence that you are ready to babysit!

  • @BabysitterBoss

    @BabysitterBoss

    4 жыл бұрын

    If you've taken a class like Safe Sitter (you can find a class by visiting safesitter.org/find-a-class/), then around 11 is a good age to start watching kids that are 4 years or older. After a couple of years experience with the older kids, you should be able to handle infants and toddlers well!

    I have a question that isn’t related to this video, it’s related to an older one. Anyways, do you have to meet with the employer? Can’t you just talk on the phone and take notes. When I took the safe sitter class they told me to spend about half an hour on the phone or in person talking to the employer about everything you need to know. So, do you have to meet in person, because you said you had to meet with the employer (not in this video, but a different one)?

  • @BabysitterBoss

    @BabysitterBoss

    5 жыл бұрын

    If you remember from class, you can get the High Five Info (who, what, where, when, how) on the phone when you accept the job. If it is a new employer, you will want to meet with them 30 minutes before the job to get all the contact information you need, learn about the kid's routines, and take the house tour. You don't necessarily have to schedule another time to meet with them, just come early to the job so that they can leave on time. If it is a repeat employer, you should only need about 10 minutes. I hope this helps!

    School is tough. Find someone you can talk to about your feelings. Start with the school counselor. They are there to help and want to help you! The important thing is to talk to someone, don't hold it inside.

    I'm going into 8th grade and my middle school years haven't been bad but I have a feeling that the popular kids are gonna be gunning for me because of my older brother's reputation (C). C is a "bad kid", being expelled a lot but its because of his SPD (sensory processing disorder) that people get under his skin more that usual and that he can be violent. Anyways last year some pop kids (that were always trying to get into a fight) (one of them came up to me one day saying that he had a fight with C, to try and seem cool) were trying to get info from me about C. I shoo them away, but they came back with the same question.

    I remember when I started middle school that I was so nervous about getting what I needed out of my locker and getting to my classes on time. And guess what ... it was never a problem! Schools usually give you some extra time to find classes the first few days - this will help you a lot and should make you not as stressed. Most likely, your classes will be near each other and you won't have to run through the entire school class to class. If I could survive the stress of not being late, I know you will!

    Hey babysitter boss, I start middle school in a few months, I need some help. What do I do if I don't know which class is mine, what do I do if I chicken out on the school bus if someone asks to sit by me, should I join any talent shows or clubs. I'm so scared but I hope your tips will help. Please respond to me.

  • @BabysitterBoss

    @BabysitterBoss

    You may not know which class is yours on the first day, and that's okay. There are a lot of other students that will be in the exact same boat. You'll be amazed that literally by the end of the first week, you will know where everything is. I promise! It's crazy how fast you figure out your schedule. If someone asks to sit by you, that's okay. If you're comfortable with it, let that person sit by you. Should you join any talent shows or clubs? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! And if you don't make it, try another. It's all about trying sports and activities to find what you like and where you thrive. You'll survive middle school. I promise!

They expect you to know how much homework you have and get it done (on time). Grade 5 is also really fun because you get to be more independent!
