Both bands were playing in Boston, USA, last year in different venues on consecutive nights. Babymetal and their producer were spotted at the EC concert watching from the side. It's assumed that is when this collaboration was discussed.

I am so glad that you folks have an open mind on music! I used to be a classica; and jazz music fan, but BABYMETAL pulled me into metal which I had thought was dark and negative. ECB also fused positivity into metal and love them. Such a coincidence they both started in 2010, though BM were 11 and 12 yrs old...

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same days in the same places in several European festivals in June ? ★ Just FYI, BABYMETAL also performed "Brand New Day" with Scott and Tim from POLYPHIA in the festival. That was beautiful and soothing.

I wonder, Dave, if you've not seen the right Babymetal vids yet - they have gone through so many music styles that I can only hope you've just not yet found the right vids/songs to drag you in, but hey, not everyone is gonna love them. They're possibly going to go through more music styles with their next album, now they have a girl that can scream (did you spot Momometal doing some screams in this one? e.g. the second "are you ready?" when Kevin was bringing the cables together). I'd suggest you might want to try the collab Babymetal did with F.Hero and Bodyslam - it's quite something!

Electric Callboy were on their best behaviour because Babymetal don't stand for any tomfoolery. You're 42? Don't let that stop you! I'm 47 and I went to Japan for FOX_FEST so I could jump up and down like maniac and go "Ooh! Ooh!" with 20,000 other crazy people, and it was amazing. Anyone of any age can be a Babymetal fan whether your 3 or 80; Babymetal has one of the most diverse fanbases of any group in any genre.

Yep, totally agree! I am 76 and last year (2023) went to Makuhari and was twirling a towel and running around in the circle pit, jumping in Philly, PA, and went crazy in Madrid. BABYMETAL probably shaved a couple of decades off of my age after retiring. 🦊

I wish Babymetal would do more to make the metal gatekeepers angry. They don't need to scream.

You can use many words to describe metal music...Powerful, hard, angry, melodic, etc.... But it's only been the appearance of Babymetal, and now Electric Callboy, can I actually use the word "fun" to describe metal music.... and this song is fun. They fit so well together is because they are basically doing the same thing to metal, Babymetal is bringing in the pop and EC is bringing in the edm, and both are making it fun for everyone....No longer is metal some skandanavian guy trying to growl while eating a microphone, now its also disco metal. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘🦊🤘

Same goes for Electric Callboy. But Babymetal also has the strange background of being an artificial band made of casted members, that was formed by a media cooperation. The girls didn't even know what metal is, when this project started. The part of their music, that is metal, was originally mostly done by their hidden band members, while the girls added their dance performance - another entirely alien thing for western audiences - and voice tracks. They also play no instruments and dance instead. This changed a bit over time, especially since we started to see them growl for the first time, or when Su wrote her first song, or when the other girls got more voice parts in their songs. But many simply hate the fact, that they're more a cooperation, controlled by people in the background, than a normal band.

Well at the same time it is a 50/50 Collab and it is inside a Electric Callboy Framework since Su wants it this way. She wants to pull Babymetal out of their Comfortzone abd changr it ino a Rent a Babymetal Concept so that more or lesd can get a Babymetal Song into their songs. This would mean a lot of Babymetal Songd the Buyer can choose from and a huge number of experiments, and which Songs work

Electric Callboy isn't even very funny. Germans aren't funny. Metal isn't funny. Electric Callboy is barely funny at all but by contrast people think they're hilarious. Wow!! That was almost a joke! Look weird clothes. Humor for people with barely a sense of humor.
