Good reaction - 'Megitsune' regularly tops fan polls for their favourite song an, despite being one of their first songs, still appears on most live set lists, it is the song they have played live more than any other.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🦊 ⛩ BABYMETAL fans are known as both "The ONE", and as "Kitsunes". Some of the Japanese fans that go to a lot of BABYMETAL concerts call each other "mosh mates", or just "mates" for short. 'Megitsune' is really the quintessential BABYMETAL song. They've performed it more than any other song, and it usually tops fan polls for favorite BABYMETAL song. The performers pretending to play the traditional Japanese instruments in this video are dancers with the Movement Design group. Chidori Yakumo is their director. She is the woman performing the fan dance during the breakdown. Much of the video was shot on location on a Noh stage by the Asagaya Shinmei Shrine in Tokyo. I have to disagree about the band being the most important part of this group. The whole project was built around Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) and her "no-holds-back" singing. The backing musicians in the supporting Kami Band have all been great, but there have been a lot of different musicians in the Kami Band over the years. Su is irreplaceable. This song is great in concert with a live band, but this studio version was produced on a laptop, with Su's vocals added in the studio.

About Rammstein: they have an opening song (in German: lied) called Rammlied which also includes their name in the lyrics, so if you want know how to pronounce it you can use that song as a reference. We'll probably safe it for later, but Babymetal has their own opening song from the first album: Babymetal Death.

Nice reaction!! Welcome to the foxhole🦊 I think you're very right to watch the music video first. However, live shows are what BABYMETAL is really about. Megitsune is a very exciting song to play live show, and I highly recommend seeing the live version as well. You can feel the power of these women and the power of the audience. - Megitsune (LIVE "LEGEND 1997" [SU-METAL Seitan Sai] 2013) - Megitsune (LIVE "LEGEND 1999" [YUMETAL&MOAMETAL Seitan Sai] 2013) - Megitsune Live @ Budokan Black Night - BABYMETAL Megitsune at Glastonbury 2019 All of BABYMETAL's songs are quite different and all of them are representative of their music. I hope you enjoy the variety of songs (all of them if possible). All of the songs are great, but if I had to recommend them, the following songs might be a good place to start. - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL) - KARATE (OFFICIAL) - HEADBANGER LIVE AT BUDOKAN BLACK NIGHT 2014 Full HD I hope you continue to enjoy your BABYMETAL. Put your Kitsune🦊 up! from Japan. (Translation by DeepL) Megitsune is a song full of Japan. From here on down, if you're interested in Japan, take a look. Megitsune(女狐) is a female fox. me = 女 = female kitsune = 狐 = fox When Japanese people hear the word "Megitsune", they do not think of the animal fox. In Japan, it has long been said that foxes transform into humans and trick people. Foxes are considered to be bewitching, mysterious and cunning creatures. "Megitune" contains this meaning. The first instrument used is the 三味線(shamisen). The shamisen is a representative musical instrument of Japan. Since the shamisen was born 500 years ago, it is a new instrument among Japanese musical instruments. "それそれ(sore sore)" and "わっしょい(wasshoi)" are the shouts that are used when carrying a omikoshi(お神輿=portable shrine) during a japanese traditional festival. PAPAYA is also omatsuri(festive) metal, but so is this song. "コンコン(kon kon) is the animal sound of the fox in Japan. The song used in the breakdown is "さくら さくら(Sakura Sakura)" and it's about 150 years old. sakura means cherry blossom. A woman wearing a kimono and a fox mask is dancing in a 日本舞踊(nihon buyou=Japanese traditional dance). The dagger planted in the microphone is a 懐刀(futokoro katana) or 懐剣(kai ken), a sword that women used to insert into the 帯(obi) of a 着物(kimono). 帯(obi) is sash belt. This music video was shot at this shrine. - 阿佐ヶ谷 神明宮 (Asagaya Shinmeiguu) 能楽殿(Nougakuden) is is the place to dance 能(Noh). 能(noh) is the oldest theatrical art in Japan with its origin goes back to 14th century. Incidentally, the 3 princesses said it was hot as a sauna in this place when they shot Megitsune. あれ?日本の方?(^_^;)

Thanks for this reaction, I'm really glad you are having fun with this (regardless of your past memories of a scene in a movie or series). 6:36 "close my eyes and listen to the music" I got the impression you were going to say something, maybe something like: But with Babymetal they also have the visual aspect. The way I say/see it: a Babymetal studio album is very much like listen to a movie soundtrack without ever having seen the movie. One very important part is missing. About the "women are actresses" my guess is this part is frequently misunderstood. From the Du-metal website on Blogspot that goes more indept to the lyrics of the first 2 albums: "In an interview [on HotWave 2], SU-METAL talked about this. People may think women are always disguising (as to makeup) and pretending. But she loves the lyrics "smiling at face, crying at heart" and said that adult women are so cool as they never show suffering, by acting quite as usual even in a hard time, and she hopes to be so too." What she seems to be saying: she is proud/admires (adult) Japanese women are so strong that they are able to do so. I've seen people think the lyrics mean women have to do so and it's sad they have to, but we all have moment where we need to push through and keep going. And it's obviously a very Japanese thing to not want to bother others with your problems. Now I'm writing this I notice how ironic it is her older sister stopped with entertainment to take on a study to work on helping people with their mental problems. Which is very much the opposite: you need to learn to talk about your problems. Her sister stopped because she had her own mental health issue.

Great reaction. The fanbase is called "The One", which is also the name of one of their songs dedicated to the fans. I'm not entirely sure this is accurate, but I remember reading somewhere that they shot this video at a temple in Tokyo and they had to do it basically in silence because of it being a temple and showing respect. From what I'm to understand, shooting a music video is difficult enough because you're basically lip-syncing your own song multiple times for different shots/takes, but to do it while the music either isn't playing, or is incredibly quiet just seems like so much extra stress! I would say for your next reaction, go with either their newest music video that got released last week, "BxMxC", one that is slightly older in "Pa Pa Ya" (it's from last year), or find a real live performance for them such as "Headbanger" Live at Legend 1997!

@@Kurisutah Sorry in advance for the wall of text... I am very much part of The One! I had heard of BABYMETAL around when they formed because their first song, "Doki Doki Morning" went pretty viral in 2012, but I never saw it. Then I briefly heard about them again when "Gimme Chocolate" went viral, but again I didn't see the video. About three years or so ago, the FBE Channel on here had BABYMETAL reacting to KZreadrs reacting to them. That was the first I saw of them, but their songs were so cut up that none of them really caught me. Flash forward to last year around November or so and I heard their song "Distortion" on my satellite radio and liked it enough to Shazam it. It took me until late-March or early-April this year to actually listen to it again and look them up. I was hooked instantly and I have either listened to their music or watched people reacting to them and discovering them every day since. My one regret is not giving them a chance sooner so I could have seen them in concert before all this happened. I will do whatever I have to to see them in person when all this is over!

@@Kurisutah Exactly! The fact is I've found them and I'm hoping this pandemic has given them a good amount of rest so they come back even harder. The good part of the pandemic is that they have had so many new people discovering them that their fanbase has only grown and they might need to look into bigger venues here in the U.S., so it will give better opportunities to see them.

Teh, they are great. Listen to Death by Baby Metal, or Headbanger. Has to be Live. Also another Japanese band I would recommend is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (not the movie). Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas ; Let me Hear (MV and Live) (From Anime Parasite) Rave Up Tonight (Live) Party Boys (MV and Live) Just Awake (Live) (Hunter x Hunter)

Su is 22 and Moa and Yui are 21 now. You look about the same age i can't tell. :) Su will be 23 in Dec. You're definitely older than they were in the video. If i had to guess i'd say Su is 14 and the other two are 12.
