Good one, thanks! I'm not very fan of hard rock and I admit I didn't notice much this song at first, at least the studio track. But when I listened to the live version with the Kami Band, I had to change my mind... well, watching Legend Metal Galaxy was quite a revelation for me, haha... "Kagerou" shows the more mature side of BABYMETAL both on the choreo and the lyrics, being this about jealousy, a very rare topic for them. Also, I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this particular version from Legend-MM live in person. It was quite an experience! 🤘🦊

Love this song and was lucky to seem them back in 2019 in Chicago so this with the extended intro. It was beyond amazing, they should totally bring it back.

Welcome back BG-Metal.🦊🤘🔥 I'm pretty sure i left this suggestion at least once in the comments but anyway, cool you finally got this suggestion with the new live version at Legend MM. Kagerou is one of their songs showing that mature side of BabyMetal on 3rd album "Metal Galaxy". Started as a SuMetal solo in 2018 but in 2019 and later during live at The Forum they showed up with full formation and one _avenger_ taking the place of third spot as a backup dancer, in that moment was Riho Sayashi. There's another proshot clip live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, with Momoko Okazaki as the avenger, and with the blaster sound of Western Kami Band and that melting face intro. Kagerou means "heat haze" and she's singing about the craziness when becoming obsessive for a love. The drummer is Anthony Barone, former Shadow Of Intent member and now is the drummer of a solo artist afaik, the rest of this band are Chris Kelly and CJ. Masciantonio on guitars, and Clint Tustin on bass. The Japanese bassist you were talking about is BOH and he's married since last year iirc. This song was first premiere in 2018 while going on live tour and as a SuMetal's solo, the title was known as "Tattoo" but like i said later next year they came back with a choreo, the full formation and this unveiled title. Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。"Kagerou" is a word having 4 syllables like Ka-ge-ro-u [kɑ･gé･ro･ʊ]. I haven't used a word "Western" to call our Kami Band lately. The musicians with virtuosity, Chris, CJ, Anthony, Clint and Ryan have been dedicating their energy to BABYMETAL's international activities (including Japan) long and extensive enough to be called as our main band. They are amazing knights to protect our queen and princesses. (Of course, I love and respect original Kamis. But they are currently and mainly focusing on their own respective activities. So I went to see various concerts, soLi, Kari Band etc. where I can see BOH, Isao, Yuta and other Kamis.) Su is singing about jealousy against someone using a metaphor of heat haze, "Kagerou". The hash emotion is shimmering from her inner blaze, and it seems to me that her emotion will not erupt but turn into magma deep down. It's scary😱 . This is the song featuring BM's heavy, dark, seductive and sultry side. The girls have grown up into ladies without doubt.

Barone is a jaw dropping oh good drummer. If you want just look him up on KZread a freaking beast.

Watched this Blu Ray just last night. Watching the 2nd night tonight. So good. I will be seeing them at the House of Blues too but on the 5th. Hoping they do an extra encore since its the last show like they did last time at the KZread Theater. 🤘🦊🤘

Yeah it's hard to compete with BOH (the eastern Kami bass player), he had so much stage charisma and he is an absolute master of his big honking 6-string bass.

The custom 5-string bass was completed about a month ago. Although Boh has said he plans to use it at gigs he hasn't said he's abandoning the 6-string, and he still has "6string Bass" on his twtr. I'll see him in August when he supports soLi (Kami Bandmate Isao and violinist Saori Hoshino) and in Sept. at a Kari Band show, and it'll be interesting to see what he's playing.

​@@Hymnodic Whatever the health reasons, Boh has stated, when asked whether going to 5 strings is a sound issue or playing issue, that the primary issue is sound. He likes the nuanced sound of the high C string on a 5-string bass (when a high C is added to the 5-string) better than on a 6-string, and he believes that the low B on a 5-string has a better sound than on the 6-string. Also, he says, unwanted harmonics are more likely to be generated on a 6-string than on a 5-string. As for the pick, I'm sure that sound is also an issue. A pick allows for a more precise, crisp sound, especially when playing fast, and using different picks allows for a varied range of sounds.

@@otobokegaijin6218 A 6 string and 5 string are identical except the 6th string adds a higher string. That is the only difference. The sound of a bass is determined by the bass design such as scale length of which both come in 34 and 35 inches, and string gauge, both can utilize the same gauge. You can literally have it tuned any way you want. Everyone knows BOH has been having hand issues, and has been quite open about it on Twitter.

Interesting observation about the stage placement of the Kami's. . . .I have noticed in JRock/ metal one of the favored tropes is to split the guitars L and R in the mix. This is often paired with the visual onstage. Thus you often see Japanese groups splitting guitars stage L and R. Another great reaction. I enjoy your channel. Thank you. 🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction! Not sure why this track doesn't get nore love as its definitely in my top 5 BM songs personally. I think one of the reasons we dont see those long, killer features from the Kami band had more to do with them touring more and with openers/guests and the length of their shows is not quite as long which is, of course, a shame. I am curious though, has anyone else noticed in the most recent performances Su seems to be singing more frequently with the "western style" and incorporating more vibrato or is it just me?

KAGEROU with Blast Beast Barone always 🔥

Been a couple of years now since BOH and the other guys from the "Eastern" Kami Band have played with Babymetal..and they may still be in the Amuse, Inc. camp but with the falling Yen over the last few years (down about 30% in the last 2 yrs) the money is in the States and Europe...so I think that is the trail Babymetal is following. Good news for the West because it means more shows over here from many Japanese groups!! Thanks for the reaction and as always.... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

Damn the video looks like the Legend MM Kagerou version on March 3rd or 4th, the DVD/Blu-ray has just come out. So its probably will be taken down by Amuse if they find it

They have definitely put less emphasis on the Kami Band lately. I don't know if it's because of the introduction of the Western Kamis and not knowing how they would be received, but I hope they start giving them more spotlight again (and let them take off the masks, tbh). When I saw them last year, the Kami Band was in deep shadow the whole concert. And they were So Fucking Good, it's a disservice. It was disrespectful, frankly. I'm hoping they aren't so hidden when I see them in Nov. 🤘🦊🤘

True. And give them more freedom to roam around the stage and whatnot like the first Kami Band. For me, whoever becomes a part of the Kami Band for BABYMETAL is a top tier musician so give them some light. Obviously it's not the girls are calling the shots but it is really a disservice for the Kami Band. I bet you already watched the YAVA! official upload. They literally cut off the Kami Band solo's there, plus the girls entrance. Definitely pissed me off. Obviously a lot more people are going to watch that because it's from the OFFICIAL CHANNEL other from a channel that uploaded the same concert performance but with the Kami Band solo's and the girls entrance. Someone from the agency called the shots screwed us over that. Another example is when they posted a live performance of PAPAYA but just top it off with the audio track. Idk why they made the extra effort when the actual live is 10x better.
